Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for an end to spiritual warfare that has targeted me since I was young. Please also pray for an end to vivid, disturbing dreams that I constantly have - which sometimes are related to the warfare and sometimes are not. Please also pray for me because I'm so overwhelmed and every five seconds, there's something else going on in my life between spiritual warfare attacking me and someone always wanting something from me - I just want to be left alone. Please pray for me to have a better schedule and to stop ending my nights so late. Please pray that God would lead me to new jobs - and possibly the ability to have at least two jobs, one primary and an extra one. I am considering staying now at the jobs I currently have. Please pray for wisdom for me about this and that all issues I have with these jobs would get better for me and my coworkers. Please pray for me to be set free from maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts which I keep giving in to especially while falling asleep - and which the enemy seems to be directly increasing temptation toward. The sexual thoughts are really becoming a serious problem in my life and I'm so ashamed. God set me free from sexual sin before. I'm so sad to be falling into it again. 💔 I think because I'm struggling with depression right now, I'm using those thoughts as an outlet. Please pray. Pray that the African American community would be set free from false teachings. Pray for my entire family as we all seem to have the flu - pray that no one caring for me in my sickness would be made sicker while trying to care for me. My dad who was the first one to get sick but was getting better now seems to be coughing a lot again. Please pray for three of my cats - two who were scratching themselves too hard and accidentally caused wounds and the other who was making a strange noise with his mouth the other night but seems fine now. Pray that all my cats would be and stay healthy. I have no money for a vet and don't even know of a good one in our area. We love our pets so much. Please pray that I would stay disciplined in eating according to a diet I have to eat on due to a medical condition. Please also pray for a close friend who has fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure problems, prostate concerns and asthma. Thank you.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer as we stand together in the authority of Jesus Christ. The spiritual warfare you describe is real, and the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we declare that Jesus came so that you may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The vivid and disturbing dreams, the relentless attacks, and the overwhelming weight you carry are not from God. He does not torment His children with fear or despair. We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against your mind, your sleep, and your peace in the mighty name of Jesus. The Lord says in His Word, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). We take authority over every lying spirit, every spirit of oppression, and every demonic influence that has sought to harass you since childhood. We command them to flee now in Jesus’ name, for "the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

The sexual temptation and maladaptive daydreaming you are battling are serious strongholds, but we serve a God who sets the captives free. You are not alone in this struggle, and your shame is not from the Lord, He calls you to repentance, not condemnation. The Bible says, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). We pray that the Holy Spirit would strengthen you to resist these thoughts the moment they arise, to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5), and to replace them with what is true, noble, pure, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). You have been set free before, and by the power of the blood of Jesus, you will walk in freedom again. We declare that the enemy’s grip on your mind is broken, and we pray for godly accountability, discipline, and a renewed mind in Christ.

Your schedule and the constant demands on your time are wearing you down, but the Lord sees your weariness and invites you to come to Him for rest (Matthew 11:28). We pray that He would order your steps, give you wisdom in your work decisions, and open doors for employment that honors Him and provides for your needs. Whether you stay at your current jobs or pursue new opportunities, we ask that God would grant you favor with your coworkers, resolve conflicts, and bring peace to your workplace. The Lord knows your financial needs, and we trust Him to provide even for your pets, whom He also cares for (Matthew 6:26). We pray for healing for your cats, may the Lord touch them and restore them to full health, and may He lead you to a trustworthy vet if needed.

For your family battling the flu, we pray for complete healing and protection. May the Lord strengthen your father’s recovery and shield those caring for you from illness. We also lift up your friend with fibromyalgia, thalassemia, and other health struggles, asking the Great Physician to bring comfort, strength, and healing to his body. And for your own health, we pray that you would have the discipline and grace to follow your medical diet, knowing that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

Finally, we pray for the African American community to be set free from false teachings and drawn into the truth of God’s Word. May the light of the gospel shine brightly, exposing deception and leading many to salvation in Christ.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We ask that You would break every chain of spiritual warfare over this dear one’s life, quiet their mind, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Deliver them from temptation, heal their body and emotions, and restore their joy. Give them wisdom in every decision and provide for their every need. We declare that the enemy’s plans are thwarted, and Your purposes for their life will prevail. Strengthen their faith, deepen their trust in You, and surround them with godly community. We thank You for Your faithfulness, and we trust You to complete the good work You have begun in them. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for sharing all of this so openly with us. You’re carrying so many layers of weight right now, the spiritual harassment that’s dogged you for years, the shame-filled cycle you keep falling into, the sheer exhaustion of never having a moment’s peace. We hear that, and we’re not going to pile on religious pressure. We simply want to sit with you in this and remind you that you are not alone. The enemy wants you isolated and drowning in shame, because in the dark those thoughts seem insurmountable. But God’s mercy is fresh every morning, and He doesn’t turn away from you when you’re struggling.

One thing that might slowly loosen the grip of those intrusive thoughts, especially the ones that come as you’re trying to fall asleep, is to break the silence with confession. Not just to God, but to one safe, mature believer who can keep your confidence and pray with you regularly. Shame loses its power when it’s brought into the light. And because depression often pushes us to seek comfort in familiar but destructive outlets, that accountability can gently help you turn toward healthier ways of coping while you’re working through the heaviness underneath.

You also mentioned the late nights and the constant demands. Even one small shift, like deciding on a time to power everything down and spend five minutes quietly committing your sleep to God, can become a quiet act of resistance against the chaos. It’s not about perfect discipline; it’s about letting yourself be cared for.

We’ll lift all your burdens to the Lord now:

Jesus, we come with this whole tangled list and ask You to bring order and peace. Silence the enemy’s accusations and grant restful, undisturbed sleep, no more vivid, disturbing dreams that linger. Forgive the sexual sin this person keeps falling into, Lord; we know You have set them free before, and we trust You to do it again. Break the cycle of shame and depression that feeds it, and surround them with Your steady love. Give wisdom about the jobs, whether to stay or move, and make the path clear. Heal their family from the flu, guard their father’s lungs, and keep the cats healthy without need for a vet. Sustain their friend through all those complex health needs. Help them stay faithful to the diet they need, giving strength for that daily discipline. Finally, we lift up the African American community and ask that You would expose and uproot false teachings, drawing many hearts back to the simple, life-giving truth of Your Word. We ask all this in Your mighty name, Jesus. Amen.

The weight of sustained warfare is known to our Master, who was Himself led of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. Yet consider this: the very ferocity of these attacks may testify that you are not given over to death. Unbroken prosperity and undisturbed ease are far more fearful signs, those who sin without pangs of conscience have reason to tremble. Your distress, your loathing of the sin that clings so closely, this is evidence not of abandonment but of a living soul struggling against the darkness. The iron furnace of conviction is terrible, but it is from that furnace that God brings forth His people, with not one feeble person among them. Your weakness now is the very platform for His strength.

But let us search the wound thoroughly. You speak of using these vile imaginations as an outlet for your depression, as if sin could be a medicine for sorrow. Cast away that lie at once. Sin never consoles; it deepens the pit. When you give place to those thoughts in the drowsy moments before sleep, you are not falling by sudden ambush, you are willfully opening the door to the enemy while your hand is upon the latch. The man who prays, "Lead us not into temptation," and then goes into it, is a liar before God. You know the way those thoughts come; you know the hour they assault. Rise up and shake yourself. Dash not yourself further into sin. Do not negotiate with the serpent, cry out at the first whisper, "How dare you come to me with such a temptation? I loathe it!" That holy indignation is itself a shield.

Yet here is the gospel: Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from its guilt. Where you look for justification, to Christ's finished sacrifice alone, there you must also look for sanctification. This is not a battle you win by gritting your teeth, but by throwing yourself again upon the Ransom. He who said, "Go, and sin no more" is the same who says, "I have found a ransom." Your former freedom was His doing; your present bondage will be broken by His hand alone. The shame you feel is not meant to drive you from Him but to drive you to Him. The fatherly chastisement of a child is never punishment; it is healing correction. He has chastened you sorely, but He has not given you over to death. Believe this, and let faith comfort you even now.

As for the swarm of practical cares, the restless nights, the sick household, the poor creatures under your roof, the uncertain labor, remember that these are not distractions from the true conflict; they are the very fields where faith must walk. You ask for wisdom about your jobs; that wisdom will come as you cease fretting and commit each decision to God with open hands. You ask for discipline in your diet; that discipline is fed at the same table where you receive strength against lust, prayer and the Word. Do not separate the physical from the spiritual. Your body is the temple; its care is part of your reasonable service.

The dreams that plague you: commit them to Him who gives His beloved sleep. Do not pore over them or grant them significance beyond what they are, the dust and noise of a renewed mind. Fill your waking thoughts with Christ, and the terrors of the night will lose their sting. As for the burden of others, your friend with manifold afflictions, your community ensnared by false teaching, bear them to the mercy seat, but do not try to carry the weight of them upon your own shoulders. You are one small lamb; the Shepherd carries the flock.

Your sense that every five seconds brings a new demand is a trial of your faith, but it is also a call to simplicity. You cannot do all, but you can do what God sets before you this hour. Look to Him for the ordering of your schedule. He who made the sun to rule the day can teach you to number your hours aright. Late nights are often the fruit of a soul that has not learned to rest in God's acceptance, striving instead in its own strength.

Rise now, not in your own resolution, but in the name of Jesus. Confess the sin plainly, call it what it is, and then hear the word of pardon: "I have found a ransom." Let that forgiveness breed gratitude, and let gratitude fuel a holy hatred of the sin that cost your Savior so dear. You shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. Even this present sorrow shall be a testimony one day. Go to your rest tonight not fighting for victory but resting in the Victor. He will bring you forth; He will silence the foe; He will restore your soul.
