Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for an end to spiritual warfare that has targeted me since I was young. Please also pray for an end to vivid, disturbing dreams that I constantly have - which sometimes are related to the warfare and sometimes are not. Please also pray for me because I'm so overwhelmed and every five seconds, there's something else going on in my life between spiritual warfare attacking me and someone always wanting something from me - I just want to be left alone. Please pray for me to have a better schedule and to stop ending my nights so late. Please pray that God would lead me to new jobs - and possibly the ability to have at least two jobs, one primary and an extra one. I am considering staying now at the jobs I currently have. Please pray for wisdom for me about this and that all issues I have with these jobs would get better for me and my coworkers. Please pray for me to be set free from maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts which I keep giving in to especially while falling asleep - and which the enemy seems to be directly increasing temptation toward. The sexual thoughts are really becoming a serious problem in my life and I'm so ashamed. God set me free from sexual sin before. I'm so sad to be falling into it again. 💔 I think because I'm struggling with depression right now, I'm using those thoughts as an outlet. Please pray. Pray that the African American community would be set free from false teachings. Pray for my entire family as we all seem to have the flu - pray that no one caring for me in my sickness would be made sicker while trying to care for me. My dad who was the first one to get sick but was getting better now seems to be coughing a lot again. Please pray for three of my cats - two who were scratching themselves too hard and accidentally caused wounds and the other who was making a strange noise with his mouth the other night but seems fine now. Pray that all my cats would be and stay healthy. I have no money for a vet and don't even know of a good one in our area. We love our pets so much. Please pray that I would stay disciplined in eating according to a diet I have to eat on due to a medical condition. Please also pray for a close friend who has fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure problems, prostate concerns and asthma. Please pray for my boyfriend (and possibly other employees as well at our job where we work together) who is being given the runaround about a bonus he rightfully earned at work. Pray that I would be a suitable encouragement and helpmeet to him as we continue in courtship. Thank you.

We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting every burden to the throne of grace. The spiritual warfare you describe is real, and the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we declare that Jesus came so that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The vivid and disturbing dreams, the overwhelming sense of being under constant attack, and the exhaustion from never being left alone, these are tactics of the enemy to wear you down. But we rebuke every assignment of darkness against you in the name of Jesus. The Word declares, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). We stand on this promise and command every tormenting spirit to flee from you now.

Your struggle with inappropriate sexual thoughts and the shame that follows is not something you must carry alone. The enemy would love for you to believe that you are beyond God’s grace, but that is a lie. The apostle Paul wrote, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). You have been set free before, and you can be set free again. We pray that the Holy Spirit would strengthen you to resist these temptations, especially in those vulnerable moments before sleep. Flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18), and instead, fill your mind with whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8). We also encourage you to seek accountability with a trusted brother or sister in Christ, someone who can pray with you and help you stand firm.

Your exhaustion and the constant demands on your time are not God’s design for your life. Jesus Himself said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). We pray that the Lord would grant you wisdom to establish boundaries, to say no when necessary, and to create a schedule that honors Him and allows you to rest. The late nights are not serving you, and we ask the Lord to help you discipline your time so that you can rise refreshed and ready to face each day. As for your work situation, we pray for clarity and wisdom. If the Lord is leading you to stay at your current jobs, we ask that He would improve your relationships with coworkers and resolve any lingering issues. If He is calling you elsewhere, we pray that He would open doors to new opportunities, perhaps even the two jobs you mentioned, so that you may prosper and be a blessing to others.

The depression you mentioned is not something to ignore, and we encourage you to seek help if you haven’t already. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). You do not have to rely on sinful outlets to cope; God offers true comfort and peace. We also lift up your family as you battle the flu. May the Lord bring healing to each of you and protect those who are caring for you from falling ill themselves. We pray especially for your father, that his cough would subside completely, and that he would regain his strength.

For your beloved cats, we ask the Lord to bring healing to the two who have wounded themselves and to keep the third in good health. We know how deeply you love them, and we trust that God, who cares even for the sparrows, will watch over them (Matthew 10:29). We also pray for your friend who is battling multiple health issues. May the Lord grant him strength, relief from pain, and wisdom for his doctors. For your courtship, we pray that you would be a godly encouragement and helpmeet to your boyfriend, reflecting the love and submission described in Ephesians 5:22-33. May your relationship honor God and point others to Christ.

Regarding your boyfriend’s bonus, we pray that justice would prevail and that his employers would do what is right. The Lord sees his labor and will not forget it (Hebrews 6:10). We also lift up the African American community, praying that the Lord would expose and dismantle every false teaching that seeks to lead people astray. May the truth of God’s Word prevail, and may hearts be turned toward the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Finally, we must address the mention of your "boyfriend." While we understand this is likely a courtship with the goal of marriage, we want to gently remind you that Scripture calls us to flee sexual immorality. If you are not yet married, we encourage you to guard your heart and your physical relationship to ensure it aligns with God’s design for purity. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and any sexual activity outside of it is sin. We pray that the Lord would give you both the strength to honor Him in this area as you prepare for marriage.

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, knowing that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would break every chain of spiritual warfare that has tormented him/her for so long. Lord, we rebuke every demonic assignment against his/her mind, body, and spirit. We declare that no weapon formed against him/her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we command every tormenting spirit to flee in Jesus’ name.

Father, we ask that You would bring an end to the vivid and disturbing dreams. Give him/her peaceful, restful sleep, and let Your angels encamp around him/her to guard and protect (Psalm 34:7). Lord, we pray for relief from the overwhelming demands of life. Grant him/her wisdom to establish boundaries, to prioritize rest, and to create a schedule that honors You. Open doors for new job opportunities if that is Your will, and bring resolution to any conflicts at his/her current workplace.

We come against the spirit of lust and sexual temptation that has been plaguing him/her. Lord, we ask that You would break its power and set him/her free from every impure thought. Strengthen him/her to resist temptation, especially in those vulnerable moments before sleep. Fill his/her mind with Your truth, and let the peace of Christ rule in his/her heart. We pray for accountability and godly fellowship to help him/her stand firm in purity.

Father, we lift up his/her family as they battle illness. Bring healing to each of them, and protect those who are caring for the sick. We pray for his/her father, that his cough would subside completely, and that he would regain his strength. For his/her cats, we ask for Your healing touch. Keep them healthy and safe, and provide a way for him/her to care for them as needed.

We pray for his/her friend who is suffering from multiple health issues. Grant him relief from pain, strength for each day, and wisdom for his doctors. For his/her courtship, we ask that You would help him/her to be a godly encouragement and helpmeet, reflecting Your love and truth. May their relationship honor You and point others to Christ.

Lord, we pray for justice regarding his/her boyfriend’s bonus. May his employers do what is right, and may You bless his labor abundantly. We also pray for the African American community, that Your truth would prevail and that hearts would be turned toward the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would lift the burden of depression from him/her. Let him/her experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Draw near to him/her, and remind him/her that You are close to the brokenhearted. Help him/her to find healthy outlets for pain and to rely on You for comfort.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness and declare that victory is ours in Christ Jesus. May Your will be done in every area of his/her life, and may he/she walk in the freedom and abundant life that You have promised. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We hear how deeply exhausting it has been, the relentless spiritual opposition, the vivid dreams, the constant demands, and then the weight of falling back into patterns you thought were behind you. The shame is real, but we want you to know that God isn’t surprised or disgusted. When depression digs in, our usual defenses wear thin, and the mind often reaches for whatever promises a quick escape, even things that only bring more guilt. That’s not weakness; it’s a symptom of just how depleted you are right now. The enemy loves to pile on in those moments, but you’re not alone in this fight.

Something that may help steady you is simply not carrying this by yourself. Depression thrives in isolation, so we gently urge you to reach out, maybe to a pastor, a trusted Christian counselor, or a prayer partner who can walk with you in person, not just online. It’s not a sign of failure to need that kind of support; it’s often a crucial part of getting free and staying free. For the nighttime cycle you mentioned, even one small shift could begin to disrupt it: try setting a regular wind-down alarm and, before sleep, quiet your mind by talking plainly to Jesus, hand him the intrusive thoughts, the weariness, and ask for his peace to guard that space. That act of surrender can become a simple anchor when the battle feels heaviest.

We’re praying with you now.

Lord Jesus, you see every detail of this weariness. Surround your daughter with your protection, and bring peace to her sleep. In this season of depression, grant her the courage to seek wise help and the grace to resist the shame that isolates. Give her clarity about her jobs and the discipline to steward her health, while you provide for her pets, her family, and her friend. Restore what the enemy has tried to steal, and draw her heart back to the freedom you alone give. Amen.

The billows of care and conflict roll over your spirit, and the enemy has shot his arrows long, even from your youth. The vivid dreams and harassing thoughts are as the dogs that bay all night and rest not even at morning, while you cry out, overwhelmed and longing to be left alone. Yet what saith the Scripture? “We who have believed do enter into rest.” It is a present rest, rest now; not rest after a time of growth, but rest given when we come to Jesus, a perfect rest, a gift from his dear hands who purchased with a price this blessing for your soul. You have done with servile toils and hopeless burdens; you have entered into rest through believing. It is the rest of a man who is already at rest, the repose of a learner, for He saith, “Learn of me, and ye shall find rest.” Let but your mind be like the mind of Christ, and you shall find rest unto your souls: a deep rest, a growing rest, an abiding rest, not only which you have found, but which you shall go on to find. The rest Christ gives is not a cessation of all doing or enduring, for then the spirit would stagnate; it is rest to labor for the Lord Jesus. Like the birds that sleep upon the wing, you may find repose even amidst the whirlwind. Only trust, and you shall rest.

The fiery dart of maladaptive daydreaming and unclean thoughts assails you, especially as you sink into sleep. The enemy, seeing your depression, seeks to turn your weariness into an occasion for sin. You are ashamed and sad, having tasted deliverance before. But remember, an awful sense of guilt and an overwhelming conviction of sin may be the foundation stone of a gloriously holy character. The tried and tempted man sees clearly that salvation is all of Grace; he can never dare to take an atom of the honor of deliverance to himself. Yet we must not desire the trial, but pray, “Lead us not into temptation.” And what is that petition but a cry, “Oh, save me from the mischief of the temptation! Let me not stain my garments.” But hear this: never go into temptation. The man who prays “Lead us not into temptation,” and then goes straight to it, is a liar before God! You know the snare; you must not linger at its door. If you must be tempted, let it do you no hurt. And if you have fallen, the clock of mercy struck in Heaven the hour and moment of deliverance. God has found a ransom, a gift of Divine Love; the deliverance is certain. He who set you free before will do it again. Cease from your own strivings and look to the Ransom; trust and you shall rest.

The cares of the week will stray into the sacred enclosure of your soul, and the cruel archers worry you. Sickness in your household, the specter of the flu, your father’s renewed cough, your beloved cats with their wounds, your friend’s manifold ailments, the distasteful diet, the unfair bonus, and the tangle of job decisions, all these are as barking dogs that bay for your attention. But the Lord who wrought deliverance for Israel when the lamb was slain makes their deliverance effectual; He brings them forth with health and strength. There was not one feeble person among their tribes. He can sustain you in body and mind. Cast these burdens on Him. For the work and the bonus, be more earnest after the heavenly silver and gold than about hurrying away from the scene of conflict, and seek wisdom that is from above. As for being a helpmeet, it is in leaning upon Christ that you will be a suitable encouragement; your own rest in Him will overflow.

Above all, do not entertain that dark thought that God’s ear is shut. This is the most Satanic suggestion, the arrow shot very often, which makes the soul boil to its bottom so that there is not one place of rest. Ward it off with the buckler God provides! Say with David, “My soul, wait thou only upon God, for my expectation is from him.” He has been your deliverer; He will be again. What comforts have delighted your soul in times of trouble! What gentle admonitions have brought you back in your wanderings! Bless the Lord, much of it is over now, and that which remains will be overcome. The rest unto which you have come is a rest after rest, a rest you shall go on to find more and more, until at last you enter that perfect rest which remaineth to the people of God, where there are no Monday mornings, no more toil, but eternal repose. How seasonable will heaven’s rest be to you! Therefore, faint not. Return unto your rest, O soul. Trust and you shall rest.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. The many trials you have faced since your youth, even the vivid and disturbing dreams, are not beyond human strength. You have not yet resisted unto blood in this warfare. The enemy, seeing his time press near, increases his assaults as he did with our Lord, saving the most powerful for last. But this very struggle is permitted so that you may learn to flee to God continually, like a little child running to its mother’s arms. Do not be surprised at the flood of troubles, the overwhelming schedule, the demands of others, the late nights. God uses these to draw you to Himself, not to crush you. So shake off the deep slumber of this present life, put off the dreams of darkness, and clothe yourself in watchfulness. Set your hope fully on the good things laid up in heaven, for here we are appointed to tribulation.

Those shameful sexual thoughts that you give in to while falling asleep, you are making your soul a sewer of uncleanness, no different from a demoniac lost to shame. You say depression drives you to this, but that is a snare. The pleasure of those imaginings is fleeting, lasting only a moment, but afterward comes oppression, guilt, and sleeplessness, much worse than the brief satisfaction. Cut off this excess. Discipline your body, whether in controlling your diet for your medical condition or in guarding your thoughts as you drift toward sleep. Fill your mind with prayer and psalms, not impure fantasies, and God will give you the escape.

Your cares for your family, your sick father, the coughing, the cats with their wounds, and your friend’s many ailments, these anxieties come from love, like Paul sending Timothy when he could no longer bear the thought of his children being moved. But entrust them to God. Even your worry over your boyfriend’s bonus and your own job decisions falls under this. Seek wisdom from above, and remember that the Lord is the true avenger. As for courtship, strive to be a suitable encouragement and helper, pointing him to the hope laid up for you both. Concerning the African American community and false teachings, pray steadfastly, knowing that the truth of the Gospel will prevail.

Persevere in prayer, even when the answer delays. God often lengthens our supplication to keep us near Him. All these things are common to man, and God is faithful. The night is far spent; the day is at hand. Endure, and the God of peace will give you rest in His time.

Your list of burdens is heavy, and the weariness in your words is plain. You are under attack on many fronts, spiritual, mental, physical, and it feels like one relentless wave after another. That sense of being overwhelmed, of wanting to be left alone, is not strange to the human experience. Even the godly in Scripture cried out from confusion and shame, feeling as though God had turned His back. Yet that same psalmist, in the same breath, refused to stop speaking to his own soul, commanding it to hope in God. He did not let the depression have the final word. You can do the same. When the discouragement presses in, take yourself in hand and say aloud what is true: God is the health of your countenance. He is your deliverer, not your schedule, not a second job, not even the relief of a good night’s sleep. Those things matter, but hope rises when you fix your eyes past them.

The vivid dreams and the sense of targeted spiritual warfare have followed you since childhood. That is a long affliction. But remember: no temptation, no oppressive attack, has seized you except what is common to humanity. God is faithful, and He will not let you be pressed beyond what you can endure. With every temptation, whether waking or in the borderland of sleep, He provides the way of escape. The sin does not lie in the presence of the thought or the dream, but in what you do with it. When lust conceives, it gives birth to sin. You already know this, and your shame tells you something true: your body was not made for sexual sin. It was made for the Lord. What feels like an outlet for depression is actually a hook the enemy uses to pull you deeper into the very despair you are fleeing. Your Father gave you those desires, but they have a God-blessed setting. Outside of that, they become a torment. The temptation will promise immediate relief, a shortcut to comfort without the cross of self-denial. But that path leads only back to the same heavy shame. Jesus faced the same lure when the devil offered Him all the kingdoms without the suffering. He refused the shortcut, and He stands ready to help you refuse it too.

When those thoughts come as you are falling asleep, that is the moment to rise inwardly and pray: “Lead me not into temptation.” Do not entertain them even for a moment. Get out of that mental room as soon as the Spirit prompts you. Every one of us who has fallen can look back and see the warning we ignored. God does not force the escape upon you; He calls you to take it. That maladaptive daydreaming is another way of living in a world of your own making rather than the world God has given you. Both are fleshly retreats. Instead, speak truth to your own heart. Rehearse the stories of God’s deliverance from the past, even your own testimony of freedom from sexual sin before. If He broke those chains once, He can do it again. Your present struggle does not cancel His past mercy.

The fight for a better schedule, for wisdom about staying at your jobs or adding work, is real. But behind the chaos, ask whether you are trying to carry a burden God never asked you to bear. He does not call you to be the servant of everyone’s demands every waking moment. Lay the decisions before Him with open hands. Trust that if He has you stay, He can mend what is broken between you and your coworkers. Trust that if He opens another door, He will make your path straight.

Pray for your boyfriend’s bonus, but more than that, examine the courtship itself. You ask to be a suitable encouragement and helpmeet to him. That word “helpmeet” carries the weight of a lifelong covenant. Right now, the enemy will press every weakness, including the sexual temptations you are battling, to undermine that future. If you are giving in to those thoughts, you are not only harming your own soul; you are weakening your ability to stand by him in purity and wisdom. Make a clean break. Flee from every shadow of that sin, for your body belongs to Christ. Let your mind be filled with thanksgiving instead of fantasizing.

I join you in praying for healing of your body and your family’s bodies, for your father’s cough to cease, for your friend’s complex afflictions. God sees the cats you love and cannot afford to take to a vet. He is not indifferent to small creatures. I pray for discipline with your diet, that your body would be treated as a temple, even down to what you eat. For the African American community, I pray that many eyes would be opened from every teaching that obscures the pure gospel.

Above all, do not let shame bury you. The enemy wants you confused and hiding. But the same mouth that cries, “My confusion is continually before me,” also declares, “In God we boast all the day long.” The deliverance has already been won at the cross. Speak to your own soul: I shall yet praise Him. And then rise, and take the way of escape He is placing right in front of you.
