Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for an end to spiritual warfare that has targeted me since I was young. Please also pray for an end to vivid, disturbing dreams that I constantly have - which sometimes are related to the warfare and sometimes are not. Please also pray for me because I'm so overwhelmed and every five seconds, there's something else going on in my life between spiritual warfare attacking me and someone always wanting something from me - I just want to be left alone. Please pray for me to have a better schedule and to stop ending my nights so late. Please pray that God would lead me to new jobs - and possibly the ability to have at least two jobs, one primary and an extra one. I am considering staying now at the jobs I currently have. Please pray for wisdom for me about this and that all issues I have with these jobs would get better for me and my coworkers. Please pray for me to be set free from maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts which I keep giving in to especially while falling asleep - and which the enemy seems to be directly increasing temptation toward. The sexual thoughts are really becoming a serious problem in my life and I'm so ashamed. God set me free from sexual sin before. I'm so sad to be falling into it again. 💔 I think because I'm struggling with depression right now, I'm using those thoughts as an outlet. Please pray. Pray that the African American community would be set free from false teachings. Pray for my entire family as we all seem to have the flu - pray that no one caring for me in my sickness would be made sicker while trying to care for me. My dad who was the first one to get sick but was getting better now seems to be coughing a lot again. Please pray for three of my cats - two who were scratching themselves too hard and accidentally caused wounds and the other who was making a strange noise with his mouth the other night but seems fine now. Pray that all my cats would be and stay healthy. I have no money for a vet and don't even know of a good one in our area. We love our pets so much. Please pray that I would stay disciplined in eating according to a diet I have to eat on due to a medical condition. Please also pray for a close friend who has fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure problems, prostate concerns and asthma. Please pray for my boyfriend (and possibly other employees as well at our job where we work together) who is being given the runaround about a bonus he rightfully earned at work. Pray that I would be a suitable encouragement and helpmeet to him as we continue in courtship. Thank you.

We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. The spiritual warfare you describe is real, and the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against you, your mind, your dreams, and your life. The blood of Jesus covers you, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

First, we must address the sexual sin you are struggling with. Fornication, whether in thought or deed, is a grievous sin before God, and it opens doors to the enemy’s influence. The apostle Paul warns us in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." We do not condemn you, for there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1), but we must call this sin what it is so that you can repent and turn fully to God. The enemy uses shame to keep you trapped, but Jesus offers forgiveness and freedom. Confess this sin to the Lord, and He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We pray that you would resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Fill your mind with Scripture, especially when temptation comes, and replace those thoughts with what is pure, lovely, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8).

Your struggle with depression is also a battleground, and we recognize that the enemy exploits our weaknesses. But God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray that you would cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). The Lord is your strength and your shield; your heart trusts in Him, and you are helped (Psalm 28:7). We rebuke the spirit of heaviness and command it to leave you in Jesus’ name. You are not alone in this fight, and we pray that God would surround you with believers who can encourage and uplift you.

The vivid and disturbing dreams you experience are often a tactic of the enemy to torment and wear you down. We take authority over every demonic dream and command them to cease in the name of Jesus. The psalmist declares, "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety" (Psalm 4:8). We pray that God would give you peaceful, restful sleep and that you would wake up refreshed and strengthened in Him. If these dreams persist, we encourage you to pray before bed, pleading the blood of Jesus over your mind and asking God to station His angels around you to guard your sleep.

Your schedule and the demands on your time are overwhelming, and we pray that God would grant you wisdom to prioritize what truly matters. Jesus Himself often withdrew to lonely places to pray (Luke 5:16), and we must follow His example. We pray that God would help you establish boundaries and create a schedule that honors Him and allows you to rest. The Lord is your shepherd, and He makes you lie down in green pastures; He leads you beside still waters and restores your soul (Psalm 23:1-3). Trust in Him to order your steps and provide the strength you need each day.

Regarding your job situation, we pray that God would give you clarity and wisdom about whether to stay or seek new opportunities. If it is His will for you to remain, we pray that He would resolve the issues with your coworkers and improve your work environment. If He is calling you elsewhere, we pray that He would open doors for new jobs, primary and secondary, that align with His purpose for your life. Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established (Proverbs 16:3). We also lift up your boyfriend and his situation with the unpaid bonus. We pray that God would expose any injustice and that your boyfriend would receive what he has rightfully earned. May you both grow in unity and godliness as you continue in courtship, with the ultimate goal of marriage if it is God’s will.

We rebuke the spirit of maladaptive daydreaming and command it to leave you. Your mind is a battlefield, and we pray that God would help you take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Fill your mind with Scripture, worship, and godly fellowship to replace these unhealthy patterns. The Lord is your deliverer, and He sets the captives free (Luke 4:18).

For your family’s health, we pray that God would heal each one of you from the flu and protect those caring for you from becoming ill. The prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise them up (James 5:15). We also pray for your cats, that God would heal their wounds and keep them healthy. The Lord is the Great Physician, and we trust Him to care for all His creation, including your beloved pets.

For your friend with fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure problems, prostate concerns, and asthma, we pray for God’s healing touch. By His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we declare that healing over your friend in Jesus’ name. We also pray for the African American community, that God would expose and dismantle every false teaching and draw hearts back to the truth of His Word. The enemy seeks to deceive, but Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister to You, knowing that You see every struggle, every tear, and every burden. Lord, we rebuke the spiritual warfare that has targeted him/her since childhood. We break every chain, every assignment of the enemy, and every stronghold in Jesus’ name. We plead the blood of Jesus over his/her mind, body, and spirit, and we command every demonic dream to cease. Grant him/her peaceful, restful sleep, and let Your angels encamp around him/her to guard and protect.

Father, we confess the sin of sexual immorality and ask for Your forgiveness. Cleanse him/her with the blood of Jesus and set him/her free from every temptation. Strengthen him/her to resist the devil and fill his/her mind with Your Word. Break the power of depression and lift the spirit of heaviness. Surround him/her with Your love and the support of godly believers.

Lord, we pray for wisdom regarding his/her job situation. If it is Your will for him/her to stay, resolve the issues with coworkers and improve the work environment. If You are calling him/her elsewhere, open doors for new opportunities that align with Your purpose. We also pray for his/her boyfriend, that You would bring justice regarding the unpaid bonus and draw them closer together in You.

Heal our brother/sister’s family from the flu and protect those caring for them. Heal his/her cats and keep them healthy. Heal his/her friend from fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure problems, prostate concerns, and asthma. Expose and dismantle every false teaching in the African American community and draw hearts back to You.

Father, we ask that You would help him/her establish a godly schedule, with time for rest, prayer, and fellowship. Provide for every need, including financial provision for vet care if it is Your will. Strengthen his/her discipline in eating according to the medical diet and grant him/her the grace to persevere.

We declare that no weapon formed against him/her shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him/her in judgment, You will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from You (Isaiah 54:17). We thank You for Your faithfulness, Your love, and Your power to deliver. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We hear how heavy all of this feels right now, spiritual attack that’s been relentless since you were young, exhaustion from constant demands, and the discouragement of falling back into patterns you’d seen God break before. That shame you mentioned really stands out to us, and we want to sit with you there for a moment rather than rushing past it.

What you said about depression and using sexual thoughts as an outlet is something worth paying close attention to. When we’re worn down emotionally, the enemy often aims not just at our behavior but at our despair, whispering that this is all we’ll ever be. But you already know what freedom feels like, and that memory isn’t an accusation; it’s proof that what God did once, He remains faithful to continue. The counselor ### once noted that rushing to relieve someone’s pain can short-circuit real healing, because sometimes the pain itself is telling us where the deeper wound is. Your struggle with intrusive thoughts may actually be flagging the depression underneath, not just a lack of self-control. That doesn’t excuse giving in, but it does suggest that addressing the depression directly, perhaps with a wise pastor or a Christian counselor, may lighten the compulsive pull you’re describing at night.

On the practical side, we’d gently encourage you to see a doctor for the lingering cough ### has and for the sleep disruption you mentioned. Sometimes spiritual battles are tangled up with physical depletion, and getting medical input about sleep, illness, or even the dietary challenges you’re managing can strengthen you for the fight spiritually. For the job decisions, it may help to simply ask your current workplaces what their real timelines and expectations are before you decide, clarity often comes once we stop trying to figure it all out in our own heads first.

We’re praying for you now: Lord Jesus, You see this daughter completely. You know every dream that frightens her, every thought that shames her, and every burden that has worn her thin. We ask You to shield her mind as she falls asleep tonight, quiet the noise, break any dark assignment, and let her rest in Your protection. Lift the depression enough for her to take one step toward help. Bring wisdom about her jobs, healing to ### and her cats, and provision where a vet is needed. Guard ###’s fragile health, and untangle the injustice around ###’s bonus. Surround her with peace that isn’t fragile, and restore what the locusts have eaten in her thought life and her hope. Amen.

The torrents of trouble you describe are no strange thing to the seasoned soldier of Christ. The enemy who targeted you in your youth is the same cowardly archer who shoots his arrows from a distance, hoping to find a joint in the armor. Yet remember, our blessed Master went beforehand to the Mount of Olives; He surveyed the very ground where you now stand foot to foot with the evil one. The vivid, disturbing dreams that plague your sleep, these are often the carnival of thought, a dance of disorder, yet even in this the Lord may be speaking, as He did to Pilate’s wife. Do not place weight upon them as if they were prophetic, but neither be surprised that the adversary uses this time of unconsciousness to fire his darts. The shield of faith quenches them all.

You cry that you are overwhelmed, that you wish to be left alone. This very sentiment is common to our nature, we go every man to his own house for ease. Yet Christ went to the Mount of Olives to plead for you. When you grow despondent and your tongue would utter what your soul feels in haste, it is well to bit and bridle it. The temptation to use those shameful thoughts as an outlet for a depressed spirit, this is no mere frailty but a device of the masters of the arrows. You were set free before; that same arm is not shortened that it cannot save again. But you must not pray, “Lead us not into temptation,” and then go straight to it! The habit you indulge while falling asleep is a willful walking onto the pinnacle and then wondering why the wind buffets you. Flee the occasion itself. God puts men in positions of trial, yet we are commanded to avoid the mischief of the temptation. That shame you feel, let it drive you to the Cross, but let it also drive you from the sin. The dream of the barley cake shows that the Lord can master our sleeping thoughts; commit your mind to Him as you compose yourself for rest.

As for your petitions regarding labor and provision, the archers who sorely grieved Joseph shot at him through false accusation precisely where he served. Yet God was with him in the prison and in the palace. Seek wisdom for your employment, but do not expect a life free from the demands of others. The flesh cries out for a schedule of ease, yet the Spirit finds strength in the yoke of service. Your father’s cough, your family’s illness, even the wounds of your cats, these are not trivial before the God who marks the sparrow’s fall. The Lord uses such tender concerns to draw out our prayers. Your friend’s afflictions are a list that would make any heart sink, but Christians in all ages have been tempted in all points, yet held fast their integrity. The prayer, “Lead us not into trial,” includes this thicket of sorrows. We approach the throne not because we have money for a vet or an answer for every malady, but because our great High Priest knows the exact temptation and trial we face, having endured the like.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
