Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for an end to spiritual warfare that has targeted me since I was young. Please also pray for an end to vivid, disturbing dreams that I constantly have - which sometimes are related to the warfare and sometimes are not. Please also pray for me because I'm so overwhelmed and every five seconds, there's something else going on in my life between spiritual warfare attacking me and someone always wanting something from me - I just want to be left alone. Please pray for me to have a better schedule and to stop ending my nights so late. Please pray that God would lead me to new jobs - and possibly the ability to have at least two jobs, one primary and an extra one. I am considering staying now at the jobs I currently have. Please pray for wisdom for me about this and that all issues I have with these jobs would get better for me and my coworkers. Please pray for me to be set free from maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts which I keep giving in to especially while falling asleep - and which the enemy seems to be directly increasing temptation toward. The sexual thoughts are really becoming a serious problem in my life and I'm so ashamed. God set me free from sexual sin before. I'm so sad to be falling into it again. 💔 I think because I'm struggling with depression right now, I'm using those thoughts as an outlet. Please pray. Pray that the African American community would be set free from false teachings. Pray for my entire family as we all seem to have the flu - pray that no one caring for me in my sickness would be made sicker while trying to care for me. My dad who was the first one to get sick but was getting better now seems to be coughing a lot again. Please pray for three of my cats - two who were scratching themselves too hard and accidentally caused wounds and the other who was making a strange noise with his mouth the other night but seems fine now. Pray that all my cats would be and stay healthy. I have no money for a vet and don't even know of a good one in our area. We love our pets so much. Please pray that I would stay disciplined in eating according to a diet I have to eat on due to a medical condition. Please also pray for a close friend who has fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure problems and asthma. Thank you.

We hear your cry, beloved, and we stand with you in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already disarmed the powers of darkness and made a public spectacle of them (Colossians 2:15). The spiritual warfare you describe is real, but it is not greater than the One who lives within you. We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against your mind, your dreams, and your peace in the name of Jesus. The vivid and disturbing dreams you experience are not from God, for He gives His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2), and we command every unclean spirit behind them to loose you now. The Lord says to you, "I will satisfy her with long life, and show her my salvation" (Psalm 91:16). You are not abandoned, and you are not alone, Christ has already overcome the world (John 16:33).

The overwhelm you feel is a tactic of the enemy to isolate you and make you believe you are powerless. But Scripture declares, "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord" (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that God would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him (Ephesians 1:17), that you would discern the schemes of the devil and stand firm in the armor of God (Ephesians 6:11). The constant demands on your time and energy are not your burden to carry alone, cast your cares upon the Lord, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). We pray for divine order in your schedule, that the Lord would establish your steps (Proverbs 16:9) and grant you rest. You are not a machine; you are a child of God, and He calls you to come to Him when you are weary and heavy-laden, and He will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).

Regarding your work, we pray for clarity and wisdom. If it is the Lord’s will for you to stay in your current jobs, we ask that He would remove every obstacle, heal every strained relationship with coworkers, and open doors of favor and provision. If He is calling you elsewhere, we pray that He would make the path clear and provide opportunities that align with His purpose for your life. Scripture says, "Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will be established" (Proverbs 16:3). We also pray for the ability to take on a second job if it is His will, but not at the expense of your health or peace. The Lord is your provider (Philippians 4:19), and He will not leave you lacking.

The battle with sexual sin is a heavy one, but it is not one you must fight in shame. The enemy wants you to believe you are defined by your struggles, but God says you are defined by the blood of Christ. We rebuke the spirit of lust and perversion that has been assigned to torment you, and we declare freedom over your mind and body in Jesus’ name. Scripture is clear: "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). But it also says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). You are not beyond redemption, and you are not beyond victory. We pray that God would break the cycle of temptation, especially in those vulnerable moments as you fall asleep. Fill your mind with His Word, meditate on His promises, and take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). You are not using these thoughts as an outlet because of depression, you are being targeted because the enemy knows your potential in Christ. But greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

We also lift up the African American community, praying that the Lord would raise up faithful teachers and shepherds who proclaim the truth of the Gospel without compromise. May the Holy Spirit expose every false teaching and draw hearts back to the unchanging Word of God. "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6), but we declare that this will not be the case for those who seek the Lord with all their heart.

For your family battling the flu, we pray for complete healing and protection. The Lord is your healer (Exodus 15:26), and we ask that He would strengthen your father and shield those caring for you from illness. May the Lord restore your family’s health and grant you all rest and recovery. For your precious cats, we pray for divine healing over their wounds and any underlying issues. The Lord cares even for the sparrows (Matthew 10:29), and we trust He will watch over your beloved pets. We pray for wisdom in caring for them and that the Lord would provide a trustworthy vet if needed.

For your medical diet, we pray for discipline and strength. The Lord is your strength in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9), and we ask that He would help you honor your body as a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). For your friend with fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure issues, and asthma, we pray for supernatural healing and comfort. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). May He grant her relief and strength for each day.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, the only Name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. Lord, we lift up Your child who is under attack, who is weary, and who is fighting battles on multiple fronts. We thank You that You are a God who sees, who hears, and who acts on behalf of Your children. We declare that the blood of Jesus covers every area of their life, mind, body, spirit, and circumstances.

We rebuke every spirit of oppression, torment, and sexual immorality that has been assigned to them. We command these spirits to loose them now in Jesus’ name. Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of addiction to sinful thoughts and behaviors. Fill their mind with Your truth, Your peace, and Your presence. When they are weak, be their strength. When they are tempted, provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13). We pray for a hedge of protection around their mind, especially as they sleep, that no unclean thing would have access to their thoughts.

Father, we ask for divine order in their schedule. Give them wisdom to prioritize what is important and the strength to say no when necessary. Provide rest for their body and soul, and help them to honor You with their time. Regarding their work, we pray for Your guidance. If it is Your will for them to stay in their current jobs, bring healing to every relationship and remove every obstacle. If You are calling them elsewhere, make the path clear and provide opportunities that align with Your purpose. We also pray for provision, that You would open doors for a second job if it is Your will, but not at the expense of their health or peace.

Lord, we pray for healing for their family battling the flu. Touch each one with Your healing hand and restore their strength. Protect those who are caring for them, that they would not become ill. For their pets, we ask for Your healing touch. You care for all of Your creation, and we trust You to watch over them. Provide wisdom and resources for their care.

For their medical diet, we pray for discipline and strength. Help them to honor their body as Your temple. For their friend with chronic illnesses, we pray for Your healing and comfort. Be her strength in weakness and grant her relief from pain.

Father, we pray for the African American community, that You would raise up faithful teachers and shepherds who proclaim Your truth. Expose every false teaching and draw hearts back to Your Word.

Lord, we thank You that You are a God who fights for Your children. We declare that this spiritual warfare will not prevail, that the enemy’s plans will be thwarted, and that Your child will walk in the freedom and victory that Christ has already won. Strengthen them, encourage them, and remind them that they are not alone. You are with them, and You will never leave them nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5).

We pray all of this in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We hear how heavy this feels right now, like the attacks keep coming from every direction, and even your own mind feels like contested ground. The spiritual warfare you've known since childhood, the exhausting dreams, the constant demands from others, the struggle with thoughts that leave you ashamed, it's all piling up at once, and you're tired. We're not going to pile on. What stands out to us is that you named depression as a factor, and that's worth paying attention to. When we're worn down and hurting, our defenses drop; old escape routes start looking like relief. That doesn't make the sin less serious, but it does mean the path forward probably includes tending to the depression itself, not just white-knuckling the temptation.

One practical step: give yourself permission to genuinely rest. You mentioned wanting to be left alone, that may not be selfishness talking, but a soul that's been running on empty. Can you carve out even thirty minutes tonight with no demands, no screen, just quiet? Your body and mind need a pause from the constant onslaught. On the maladaptive daydreaming and sexual thoughts, something that often helps is noticing when they hit hardest, you already named falling asleep. What if you replaced that space with something concrete, like listening to a calm audio Bible or a hymn, giving your mind something true to anchor on as you drift off?

On the job question: we'd encourage you not to make that decision while you're this depleted. Give it a few weeks of intentional rest and prayer before deciding whether to stay or go. Wisdom for big decisions comes clearer when we're not in survival mode.

Lord Jesus, you see this weariness, the warfare, the shame, the overwhelm. We ask for your protection over this person right now. Quiet the enemy's accusations and break the power of these thought patterns. Bring healing to their body and their dad's, and keep their cats healthy. Guide them to the right work, in your timing. Most of all, restore their hope and let them remember what freedom in you feels like. We ask this in your name, amen.

This prayer request is a cry from a soul under manifold assaults, and I must answer from the Word, not with flattery, but with the medicine of truth. You speak of spiritual warfare, vivid dreams, depression, impure thoughts, the press of many duties, and weakness in the flesh. All this belongs to that terrible arena of temptation, and it is well that you pray, “Lead us not into temptation,” for no prayer is more needed by a child of God.

Consider first that temptation itself is not sin; you are not defiled because foul birds hover over your head, but only if you build a nest for them in your hair. Satan plagues you with maladaptive daydreams and shameful desires, especially when sleep draws near and the will is drowsy. I hear you say you have yielded, and your heart is heavy with shame. Yet let me remind you: Christ was tempted in all points like as we are, and He ever lives to make intercession. Do not think your fall is beyond recovery; has He not set you free before? It is the trick of the enemy to tell you that because you stumbled you are cast away forever. That is a lie from the pit. You must both run from the temptation and run to the Saviour. Never go into temptation. When you pray, “Lead us not into temptation,” and then lull yourself into those thoughts because they bring a moment’s relief from depression, you are acting a lie before God. He has nothing to do with that voluntary dalliance. Flee from it as from a serpent! Yet if the thought invades unbidden, resist it with all your might, for there is no excuse for yielding because depression makes the flesh weak. The saints who now wear white robes were tempted like you, and they overcame by the blood of the Lamb. Your present sadness may be a dark cavern, but never let it become a brothel for unclean imaginations. The Lord has promised a way of escape; cry to Him for deliverance the very instant the temptation knocks.

Those disturbing dreams often depend upon the body, what you eat, the lateness of your hours, the clutter of the mind. Yet God may permit them to drive you to His feet. Dreams are ordinarily a carnival of thought, a maze of mental disorder, but He orders all things. Let it be a comfort to you that even Gideon’s enemy dreamt of a barley cake tumbling into the host, and it presaged their overthrow. So your dreams may be a mirror of the warfare, but they cannot harm you unless you let them govern your waking hours. Commit your nights to the Lord, and seek to quiet your mind before sleep with holy meditation, not restless anxiety. As for the schedule that keeps you up so late, it is your duty to govern your own household of body and soul. If you would eat a disciplined diet for your health, even more must you discipline your hours. The flesh cries out for a lax rein, but the spirit must bring it into subjection.

Now, about your employment: you ask for wisdom, and God gives liberally to those who ask without upbraiding. Two jobs may be a necessity, but see that they do not multiply your temptations. Wealth glittered before Christ’s eyes when Satan offered all the kingdoms, but He saw the idolatry behind the bribe. Every position carries its peculiar snare; pray that God would not lead you into such circumstances where integrity is made harder to keep. If you stay in your present situation, trust that the providence which placed you there can soften any friction. Let not the pressure of people always wanting something from you breed bitterness. When weariness makes you cry, “I just want to be left alone,” remember that our Master withdrew often to pray, and He will give you seasons of quiet if you seek His face.

I have not overlooked your sickness and that of your family, nor your tender concern for your cats. The Lord cares for all creatures, and not a sparrow falls without Him. Cast this care also upon Him. Your friend with so many ills must be borne upon the heart in prayer, and I join you in that. The African American community, and indeed all communities, need deliverance from false teaching, and nothing but the truth in Christ can set them free.

One thing more: you are ashamed of these inward falls. So was David when he wrote his penitential psalms. So was I when once in great pain I doubted God’s love and spoke hasty words, and later abhorred myself. The Lord looks upon your brokenness, not with contempt, but with pity. Only be sure that shame leads you not to hide from Him, but to press closer to the bleeding side. He is touched with the feeling of your infirmities. Go again to the throne, plead His finished work, and hear Him say to you, “Sin shall not have dominion over you.”

Temptation you will have while in this body, but the same Saviour who prayed for Peter that his faith fail not prays for you. Watch and pray, keep clear of the sin of the temptation, and the sorrow of it shall work for you a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. Now to Him who is able to keep you from falling, be glory both now and forever.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
