We hear your cry for help in the midst of this intense spiritual battle, and we stand with you in fervent prayer. The Scriptures remind us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). This is a battle that must be fought on our knees, with the full armor of God as our defense.
First, we must rebuke the enemy’s schemes in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. The devil comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus has come that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Him (Isaiah 54:17). We command every spirit of harassment, torment, and oppression to flee in Jesus’ name! You have no authority here, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
We also lift you up before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to surround you with His hedge of protection. The Lord is your refuge and fortress, your God in whom you trust. He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart (Psalm 91:2-4). We pray that the Lord would dispatch His angels to encamp around you, to guard you in all your ways (Psalm 91:11). Let the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
It is also important to examine your own heart and life to ensure there is no foothold the enemy might be exploiting. Have you forgiven those who have harmed you? Unforgiveness can give the enemy a place in our lives (Ephesians 4:26-27). We encourage you to release any bitterness, anger, or desire for vengeance to the Lord. Vengeance belongs to Him, and He will repay (Romans 12:19). Instead, bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse (Romans 12:14). This is not easy, but it is necessary for your spiritual freedom.
We also urge you to stand firm in your identity in Christ. You are a child of God, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, and seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). The enemy seeks to wear you down with lies, but we declare that you are more than a conqueror through Him who loved you (Romans 8:37). Put on the full armor of God daily—the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17). Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication, and stay alert with perseverance (Ephesians 6:18).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is under attack from the enemy. Lord, we ask that You would rebuke every spirit of harassment, torment, and oppression that is coming against them. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and we command every evil force to flee in the name of Jesus!
Father, surround them with Your holy angels. Let Your presence be a shield around them, and let Your peace guard their heart and mind. Strengthen them with Your might, and remind them of their identity in Christ. Help them to stand firm in the truth of Your Word and to resist the devil, so that he will flee from them (James 4:7).
Lord, we ask that You would expose any foothold the enemy may have in their life. Reveal any area where they need to repent, forgive, or release control to You. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, and let Your love and grace overflow in their heart.
We also pray for those who are harassing them. Father, we ask that You would open their eyes to the truth. Break the chains of darkness over their lives, and let them see the light of the gospel. Soften their hearts, and turn them from their wicked ways.
Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and Your promise to never leave us nor forsake us. We trust in You, and we declare that victory is ours in Christ Jesus. In His precious name we pray, Amen.
Continue to stand firm, dear one. The battle is the Lord’s, and He will fight for you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). You are not alone in this fight—we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord of hosts stands with you. Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9).
