We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, standing in the gap for our brother or sister who has been enduring spiritual warfare from a young age. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we declare that Jesus came so that we may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The vivid and disturbing dreams you’ve described are not from God, for He gives His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2) and speaks to us in peace, not in torment. The Word tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against your mind, your rest, and your spirit in the mighty name of Jesus.
The Bible makes it clear that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Because of this, we do not fight alone—we fight from victory, not for victory. Jesus has already disarmed the powers and authorities, triumphing over them by the cross (Colossians 2:15). We take up the full armor of God—the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17). We declare that you are equipped, protected, and covered by the blood of Jesus.
We also lift up the matter of your dreams. The enemy often seeks to oppress through the night, but we serve a God who neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:4). We command every spirit of fear, torment, and deception to flee in Jesus’ name. We pray that the Lord would surround you with His angels, that they would encamp around you and guard you in all your ways (Psalm 91:11). We ask the Holy Spirit to fill your mind with the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, and to replace every disturbing image with the truth of His Word (Philippians 4:7). May your sleep be sweet, your dreams be filled with His presence, and your mind be renewed by the washing of the water of the Word (Ephesians 5:26).
If there has been any unconfessed sin, generational iniquity, or open doors in your life that have given the enemy legal ground to harass you, we encourage you to bring these things into the light. Confess them to the Lord, for He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Renounce any involvement in occult practices, false religions, or anything that has not honored God, for the Bible warns that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). We stand with you in breaking every generational curse and every assignment of darkness in Jesus’ name.
We also want to gently remind you that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). The enemy has no power over those who are in Christ, for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who has been under spiritual attack for far too long. Lord, we ask that You would break every chain, shatter every stronghold, and silence every voice of the enemy that has sought to torment them. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we ask that You would fill their mind with Your peace. Drive out every spirit of fear, anxiety, and torment. Let Your angels encamp around them, guarding their mind, their heart, and their rest. Replace every disturbing dream with visions of Your goodness and Your truth. Renew their mind by Your Word, and let them meditate on whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8).
Lord, we ask that You would reveal any areas in their life where the enemy has gained a foothold. Give them the courage to repent, to renounce, and to walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for them. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus, and let them walk in the fullness of Your Spirit.
We thank You, Father, that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We trust in Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your power to deliver. We declare that our brother/sister is more than a conqueror through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37). We speak life, peace, and victory over their life in Jesus’ name.
