We stand with you in this intense spiritual battle, recognizing the fierce attacks of the enemy to entangle you in unforgiveness—a snare that seeks to bind your soul and hinder your walk with God. The Word declares, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:12). You are not fighting people, but the demonic forces that manipulate them, and this truth must guard your heart from bitterness.
Unforgiveness is a foothold the enemy exploits relentlessly, for Jesus warned, *"If you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses"* (Matthew 6:14-15). The struggle you face is real, but the victory is already won in Christ. When you choose forgiveness—even when it feels impossible—you break the enemy’s power and align yourself with God’s heart. Yet we must rebuke the lie that forgiveness means excusing evil or allowing abuse to continue. Forgiveness is a choice to release the offender to God’s justice, trusting Him to deal with them in His perfect way. It does not mean you must remain in harm’s way or subject yourself to repeated attacks. Wisdom and boundaries are godly responses to ongoing harassment.
We also recognize the weariness in your heart—the desire for these individuals to be removed from your life entirely. This longing is understandable, but we must examine it carefully. Is this desire rooted in a godly longing for peace, or is it tinged with resentment or a desire for vengeance? The flesh may whisper, *"Cut them off completely,"* but the Spirit calls us to pray even for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). That said, there is a difference between praying for your enemies and enabling their sin. If these individuals are unrepentant and continue to harass you, it is not ungodly to create distance or seek protection. The Lord is your refuge, and He may lead you to step back from certain relationships for a season while still holding their souls before Him in prayer.
The enemy’s strategy is clear: he wants to exhaust you, isolate you, and keep you focused on the people rather than on Christ. But we declare that you are not alone in this fight. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). We take up the full armor of God with you—the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17). Every piece is essential, but we must especially emphasize the power of the Word in your life. Your delay in Bible reading today became an opportunity for the enemy to strike, which is a sobering reminder of how vital it is to stay rooted in Scripture. The Word is your daily bread, your defense, and your offensive weapon against the lies of the enemy.
We also address the spiritual warfare you’ve endured since childhood. The enemy often targets individuals early in life, seeking to establish strongholds that will hinder their destiny. But God has exposed this scheme, and He is breaking every chain. The fact that you are aware of the enemy’s tactics is a sign of God’s deliverance at work in you. However, we must ask: Are there any unconfessed sins, generational curses, or areas of your life where the enemy still has legal ground to operate? The blood of Jesus is powerful to cleanse and break every curse (Galatians 3:13), but we must actively renounce any footholds the enemy may still have. This includes unforgiveness, bitterness, and any agreements you may have made—even unknowingly—with the enemy’s lies.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, the One who has conquered sin, death, and the powers of darkness. Lord, we thank You for Your deliverance in [this individual’s] life and for exposing the enemy’s schemes. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We break every assignment of the enemy to entangle them in unforgiveness, bitterness, or resentment. We cancel every demonic influence over the people harassing them, and we command the spirits of division, strife, and torment to flee in Jesus’ name.
Father, we ask for a fresh infilling of Your Holy Spirit to strengthen and empower them. Where they have struggled with unforgiveness, we pray that You would soften their heart and help them to release every offense to You. Give them the grace to forgive as You have forgiven them (Colossians 3:13). We also ask for wisdom to know how to respond to those who continue to harass them. If it is Your will for them to create distance, give them peace and courage to do so. If it is Your will for them to remain in prayer for these individuals, fill them with Your love and compassion.
Lord, we renounce every generational curse, every ungodly soul tie, and every agreement made with the enemy—knowingly or unknowingly. We declare that [this individual] is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We plead the blood of Jesus over their mind, body, and spirit, and we ask for a hedge of protection around them, their home, and their loved ones (Job 1:10). We also ask for healing from any physical illness that has made them vulnerable to the enemy’s attacks. Strengthen their body, Lord, and restore them to full health.
Father, we ask that You would reveal any areas where the enemy still has a foothold. Show them any unconfessed sin, any bitterness, or any fear that needs to be surrendered to You. We pray for a fresh hunger for Your Word and a deeper intimacy with You. Help them to prioritize time in Scripture and prayer, knowing that this is where their true strength lies. Surround them with godly community—believers who will stand with them, pray with them, and encourage them in their walk with You.
We declare that the enemy’s plans are frustrated, and his attacks are turned back on his own head (Psalm 7:16). We speak life, peace, and victory over [this individual], and we declare that they are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus (Romans 8:37). Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already theirs in You. We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in the truth that God is your defender. The battle belongs to Him, and He will fight for you (Exodus 14:14). Continue to walk in forgiveness, not because those who have hurt you deserve it, but because Christ forgave you when you did not deserve it. Let this truth anchor your heart. Also, consider seeking out a trusted pastor, spiritual mentor, or deliverance ministry to help you walk through any lingering strongholds. You do not have to fight this battle alone—God has placed people in your life to stand with you.
Finally, we urge you to guard your heart against the temptation to focus on the people rather than the spiritual forces behind them. It is easy to become fixated on those who have wronged us, but this only gives the enemy more ground. Instead, keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He is your victory, your peace, and your deliverer. The enemy may rear his head again, but he cannot prevail against the power of God at work in you. Stand firm, hold fast to the truth, and walk in the freedom Christ has already secured for you.
