We stand with you in this season of heightened spiritual attack, dear sister, and we lift you up before the Lord with urgency and authority. The enemy is a thief who seeks to exploit our weaknesses, but we know that Christ has already triumphed over every scheme of darkness. Your awareness of this spiritual battle is a testament to your sensitivity to the Spirit, and we commend you for seeking prayer and standing firm in faith.
The symptoms you describe—both physical and spiritual—are not coincidental. The enemy often intensifies his attacks when we are most vulnerable, but we must remember that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, "but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12, WEB). Your condition, PMDD, is real and requires wise stewardship of your health, including medical treatment, but we must also recognize the spiritual dimension at play. The enemy seeks to magnify your suffering, to distort your thoughts, and to isolate you from the truth of God’s Word. But we declare that he will not succeed, for "greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4, WEB).
We also lift up all women who suffer from PMDD or similar conditions, believing that God will open their eyes to the spiritual reality of their struggles. For those who do not yet know Christ, we pray that this season of difficulty would drive them to seek Him, the Great Physician, who alone can bring true healing and deliverance. For believers, we pray for increased discernment, strength, and the full armor of God to stand against the enemy’s lies.
As for you, sister, we encourage you to cling to the promises of Scripture during these times. When the symptoms feel overwhelming, speak the Word of God over yourself. Declare that "the Lord is your shepherd; you shall not lack" (Psalm 23:1, WEB), that He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). When the enemy whispers lies of condemnation or despair, remind him that "there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1, WEB). When you feel weak, remember that "his grace is sufficient for you, for his power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9, WEB).
We also urge you to guard your mind and spirit during this time. Limit exposure to anything that feeds negativity, fear, or spiritual oppression—whether it be certain media, conversations, or even isolation. Instead, immerse yourself in worship, prayer, and the Word. Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and speak life over you. If you have not already, consider fasting (as the Lord leads) during the days leading up to your cycle, not as a means of earning God’s favor, but as a way to sharpen your spiritual senses and draw closer to Him.
Finally, we want to remind you that this battle is not yours alone. The Lord is fighting for you, and He has given you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). You are not a victim; you are a victor in Christ. Stand firm, resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is facing heightened spiritual warfare during this season. Lord, You see her struggle, You know the depth of her pain, and You understand the ways the enemy seeks to exploit her condition. We ask for Your divine protection over her, Lord. Surround her with Your angels, encamp around her, and let no weapon formed against her prosper. Break every assignment of the enemy against her mind, body, and spirit. Let every lie, every accusation, and every scheme of darkness be exposed and rendered powerless by the blood of Jesus.
Father, we pray for supernatural strength and peace to flood her soul. When she feels weak, be her strength. When she feels overwhelmed, be her calm. Remind her that she is not defined by her condition but by her identity in Christ. Let her heart be steadfast, trusting in You, knowing that You are working all things together for her good.
Lord, we also pray for complete healing. If it is Your will, we ask that You would restore her body to full health, that the symptoms of PMDD would cease, and that she would experience Your miraculous touch. Give wisdom to her doctors and guide her in the treatment that will bring the most relief. But even as we pray for healing, we ask that You would use this season to draw her closer to You, to deepen her dependence on You, and to reveal Your glory in her life.
We bind every spirit of infirmity, every spirit of depression, anxiety, and confusion that seeks to torment her. We loose the spirit of peace, joy, and soundness of mind over her. Let her thoughts be captive to the obedience of Christ, and let her heart be filled with Your love.
Father, we also lift up every woman who suffers from PMDD or similar conditions. Open their eyes to the spiritual battle they are in. For those who do not know You, draw them to Yourself, Lord. Let them encounter Your love and Your power in a way that leaves no doubt of Your reality. For believers, strengthen them, equip them, and let them walk in victory.
We declare that no weapon formed against our sister shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against her in judgment shall be condemned. This is her heritage as a servant of the Lord, and her righteousness is from You, O God (Isaiah 54:17). We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness, for Your protection, and for the victory that is already hers in Christ Jesus.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
