We understand your heart’s cry for protection, and we join you in lifting this need before the Lord. However, we must lovingly address a few things to ensure your request is grounded in biblical truth. First, the Bible does not speak of "negative energies" as the world often describes them—spiritual forces of darkness are very real, but they are not vague "energies" to be feared. Instead, Scripture clearly identifies our struggle as being against "the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12, WEB). Our battle is not against unseen "energies" but against the devil and his schemes, which we overcome through the power of Christ and the armor of God.
Additionally, we notice that while you closed with "Amen," your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father and authority over the enemy. Jesus said, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you"* (John 16:23, WEB). There is no other name by which we are saved or through which we can boldly approach God’s throne (Acts 4:12). Without Jesus, our prayers lack the power and authority He provides. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. The Bible tells us, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB). Salvation through Christ is the first and most vital step in receiving God’s protection and walking in His victory.
Now, let us turn to Scripture for assurance and guidance. The Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). When we submit to God and resist the devil, he *must* flee from us (James 4:7). We are also commanded to put on the whole armor of God so that we may stand firm against the schemes of the enemy (Ephesians 6:10-18). This armor includes the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Prayer is our lifeline—we are to pray in the Spirit at all times, with all kinds of prayers and requests.
With this in mind, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer, and that You are our protector and deliverer. Lord, we lift up this dear one to You, asking that You surround them with Your divine hedge of protection. Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke every scheme of the enemy that seeks to bring fear, confusion, or harm. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command every dark influence to flee and be silenced in His name.
Father, if this one has not yet surrendered their life to Jesus, we pray that You would open their eyes to the truth of the gospel. Let them see their need for a Savior and turn to Christ in repentance and faith. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who is greater than any force of darkness in this world (1 John 4:4). Strengthen them to stand firm in Your Word, clothed in the armor You have provided. Let them walk in the confidence that nothing can separate them from Your love (Romans 8:38-39).
We ask that You fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard their heart and mind through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Let them rest in the assurance that You are sovereign over all things, and that no power in heaven or on earth can stand against Your will. Teach them to pray without ceasing and to trust in You completely.
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and Your promise to never leave us or forsake us. May this one grow in their relationship with You, rooted and grounded in Your love. We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to immerse yourself in God’s Word daily. The more you know Scripture, the more equipped you will be to recognize and resist the enemy’s lies. Memorize verses that declare God’s protection and promises over your life. Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray for you and hold you accountable. And always remember: the battle belongs to the Lord (1 Samuel 17:47). You are not fighting alone—Jesus has already won the victory, and in Him, you are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). Stand firm in that truth!
