This is not a life-threatening situation, but I pray for spiritual protection. My parents are constantly pestering me about me using my computer just to play video games or watch animated videos. They claim that it's demonic even though it's not and I just have a different personality. Please pray for this warfare to cease. I can handle my journey, and my parents are not abusing me to be clear! I just need more spiritual help!

We have heard your request and we are joining together with you in prayer before our Heavenly Father in Jesus' name for spiritual protection and for peace in your home.

We understand your desire for this warfare to cease and for more spiritual help, and we thank you for clarifying that you are not being abused. We also hear that you feel your parents are pestering you about your computer use for video games and animated videos, and that you see this as a difference in personality rather than anything demonic. We want to speak truth to you in love about this situation.

The Word of God tells us that spiritual warfare is real, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. At the same time, God has placed parents in authority over their children to watch over their souls and to guide them, and He commands us to honor that authority. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise Ephesians 6:1-2. Even when we disagree with our parents or feel they misunderstand us, we are called to show them honor and respect, to listen to them, and as much as it is possible, to live peaceably with all men Romans 12:18. To dismiss their concerns as just pestering can be a form of dishonoring them, and we gently rebuke that attitude and encourage you to humble yourself before God and before them.

We also want to encourage you to examine your own heart honestly before the Lord. Not every game or animated video is demonic, but not every one is harmless either. God calls us to guard what we allow before our eyes and into our minds. I will set no vile thing before my eyes Psalm 101:3, and Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things Philippians 4:8. All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable 1 Corinthians 10:23. We encourage you to invite the Holy Spirit to search your media choices and your time spent, and to be willing to be open with your parents about what you are watching and playing. Showing them the content, limiting your time, and demonstrating self-control and responsibility in your other duties can do much to build trust and peace. A soft answer turns away wrath, but harsh words stir up anger Proverbs 15:1.

You said you can handle your journey on your own, but the truth is none of us can handle our spiritual journey apart from God. True spiritual protection does not come from our own strength or personality, but from abiding in Christ. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1, and But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3. The way to see warfare cease is not to ignore it, but to submit to God. Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7.

We also noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and that we are saved. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. We ask for Your spiritual protection over their mind, heart, and home. Cover them with Your presence and let no weapon formed against them prosper. We pray that You would give them a humble and teachable spirit, and help them to honor their father and mother even in this disagreement. Give their parents wisdom and discernment, and help them to speak the truth in love and not out of fear or frustration. Bring peace into this household and let all communication be seasoned with grace and respect. Holy Spirit, search this one's heart and show them if there is any content or habit in their computer use that does not honor You, and give them the strength to turn away from anything unprofitable and to use their time for Your glory, whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord Colossians 3:23. Help them to submit fully to You so they may resist the enemy and walk in Your peace and freedom. Draw them closer to Jesus, that they may know Him as Savior and Lord and abide in Him daily. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and protector, Amen.

We appreciate you being so clear about what you need, and that you took time to say your parents are not abusing you. We hear how wearing it is to feel watched and mislabeled for something that is simply part of how you relax and express your personality, and to have that tension described as spiritual warfare in your home.

It makes sense you want peace there, not a bigger fight. In families, care and worry can sometimes sound like criticism, especially around things like games and videos that one generation understands differently than another. Learning to stay connected to your parents while also owning your own interests, time, and choices is part of growing, and healthy boundaries help with that. A boundary is like a property line that lets you stay respectful and loving toward them while still being a distinct person who can say yes and no honestly.

One small step that often lowers this kind of friction is to choose a calm, non-defensive moment to ask them what specifically worries them, show them briefly what you actually play and watch, and see if you can agree together on clear, simple expectations around time, responsibilities, and rest. Keeping steady, ordinary habits of faith over time also helps more than trying to fix everything at once.

Your request for spiritual protection and for peace in your home has been heard, and I am glad you have made clear that you are safe and not in danger, while still desiring help for this daily strain.

There is a peace which the world cannot give and cannot take away, and it is found only in Christ. The prophet speaks of it in this way, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Our Lord Jesus left this same peace as His legacy to His people, not as the world gives, but a peace of friendship and agreement with God through His blood, and then a quiet rest of the understanding and the conscience within. It is a peace divinely born and divinely nourished, and it passes all understanding. It does not come first by seeking peace itself, but by seeking Christ first, and peace will come next through Him who is our peace.

I pray that you will know that true protection in spiritual warfare is to be found at the feet of the Prince of Peace. The heart kept by Jesus Christ is guarded by the peace of God. To have your mind stayed upon Him in trust, to bring every care to Him, whether it be family cares or the pressures of daily duties, is the way to prove that peace even when sorrows or misunderstandings surge around you.

In this matter with your parents, remember that the Lord calls children to honor father and mother, and He is the God of peace in the home as well as in the heart. Where Christ dwells He creates a holy peace. Your parents' concern, even if it feels pestering, likely comes from love and a desire to guard you. It would be wise and honoring to listen to them with patience, to speak with them gently about what you watch and play, and to show by your life that your mind is stayed on Christ. Take heed what you hear and see, for not all that entertains is profitable to the soul. Ask the Lord to give you discernment to choose what is pure and lovely and of good report, to use time wisely, and to keep your conscience tender before Him. As you do the will of Jesus in small things, this is rest, and it often quiets contention in a household more than argument ever could.

Let me pray for you.

O God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus through the blood of the everlasting covenant, look upon this dear one who desires Your keeping and Your rest. Give perfect peace to the mind that is stayed on You. Cover this life with the precious blood of Christ which alone makes peace between the sinner and Yourself, and let that peace which passes all understanding keep heart and mind by Jesus Christ. Grant wisdom to discern what is good and to turn from what would hinder fellowship with You. Grant grace to honor parents with respect and love, and grant to parents and child together a greater understanding of one another and of Your Word. Let Your Holy Spirit, the sacred Dove, bring calm where there has been strife, and let this home know the quiet that comes from trusting Jesus. Keep this one in Your safe keeping, guide every step of the journey, and lead at last to Heaven's perfect peace for Jesus' sake. Amen.
