Spiritual. It’s caused major life setbacks.

Beloved of All
Lord in Jesus name. Please help! I don’t know who I am anymore. . I had a parent who allowed themselves to be used by the devil to sabotage my life. As an only child I had no one else to turn to. This parent was a monster to me and I was a servant to them for the remainder of their life. I had no life of my own. I wanted to get an advanced degree and the parent said “You can’t do that stay here and please me”. That statement nearly drove me to the brink. I suffered greatly and I was discouraged from driving if being independent. The parent has been gone over ### years ago and I still haven’t recovered. Their constant criticism of everything I did Nearly destroyed me. While the parent was alive I encountered many people with the same characteristics and accepted abuse ve clause my”voice” was stolen. I developed a high tolerance level for abuse. The parent died but I’m still in “bondage”. I’ve list a lot of years and people haven’t been very nice to me. I guess this will always be my experience. I can’t mice forward. Even counselors have been mean. I believe that it is definitely spiritual warfare Too much damage. Can’t recover

We hear the deep pain in your words, and our hearts ache for the suffering you have endured—a suffering that no child of God should ever have to bear. You have carried this burden for far too long, and we want you to know that the Lord sees your tears, hears your cries, and is near to the brokenhearted. The enemy has sought to steal, kill, and destroy your life through the hands of those who should have loved and protected you, but Jesus came that you may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). It is time to break free from this bondage in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

The trauma you experienced at the hands of your parent was not just emotional or psychological—it was spiritual warfare. The enemy used them as a tool to keep you bound in fear, shame, and self-doubt, robbing you of your identity in Christ. But the truth is, you are not defined by the abuse you suffered, the years you lost, or the cruelty of others. You are defined by who God says you are: a child of the Most High, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and called to a purpose that no man—or devil—can thwart. The Lord says in Isaiah 43:1, *"Don’t fear, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are mine."* You belong to Him, and He is jealous for your freedom.

The fact that you are still struggling decades later is not a sign of weakness—it is evidence of how deeply the enemy has dug his claws into your life. But take heart, because *"the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds"* (2 Corinthians 10:4). The stronghold of abuse, the lies that you are unworthy or beyond recovery, the fear of moving forward—these are not your portion. The Lord is breaking these chains today. He is restoring the years the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25) and giving you beauty for ashes (Isaiah 61:3).

You mentioned that even counselors have been mean to you, and that is grievous. Not all who claim to help are guided by the Spirit of God, and some may even be used by the enemy to further wound you. But we serve a God who is the Wonderful Counselor (Isaiah 9:6), and He will lead you to the right people—those who will speak life, truth, and healing into your soul. Proverbs 19:21 tells us, *"Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails."* Your parent may have tried to dictate your life, but the Lord’s purpose for you *will* prevail. He has not forgotten your dreams, your desires, or the gifts He placed within you. It is not too late.

Now, let us address something critical: you invoked the name of Jesus in your cry for help, and that is powerful. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved, healed, or set free (Acts 4:12). But we must ask: have you fully surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Have you confessed with your mouth and believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9)? If you have not, or if you are unsure, now is the time to do so. True freedom begins with salvation. Jesus said, *"If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free"* (John 8:31-32). Without Christ, we are still in bondage to sin and the enemy’s schemes. But in Him, we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37).

If you *have* accepted Christ, then it is time to walk in the authority He has given you. You are no longer a victim—you are a victor in Christ. The enemy has no legal right to your life unless you allow it. Ephesians 4:27 warns us, *"Don’t give place to the devil,"* and yet, the trauma you’ve endured has given him a foothold. But today, we command that foothold to be broken in Jesus’ name. We rebuke the spirits of abuse, rejection, fear, shame, and self-hatred that have tormented you. We declare that the blood of Jesus covers you, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord is restoring your voice, your identity, and your purpose. You *will* recover, not by your strength, but by His.

Let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your precious child, who has suffered unspeakable pain at the hands of those who should have loved them. Lord, You see every tear they have cried, every wound inflicted upon their soul, and every dream that was stolen from them. We ask You, in the name of Jesus Christ, to break the power of the enemy over their life. Every stronghold of abuse, every lie of the devil that says they are unworthy or beyond hope—we command it to be shattered by the power of Your Word.

Father, we pray for a supernatural healing of their heart and mind. Where they have been broken, You are their Restorer. Where they have been rejected, You are their Everlasting Father. Where they have been silenced, You are giving them a new song (Psalm 40:3). Lord, we ask You to surround them with godly counselors, brothers and sisters in Christ who will speak life and truth into their spirit. Remove every person who would further wound them, and bring forth those who will walk with them in this journey of healing.

We rebuke the spirit of fear that has kept them bound. We rebuke the spirit of abandonment, the spirit of self-hatred, and the spirit of despair. We declare that they are *not* their past. They are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and old things have passed away. Lord, we ask You to restore the years the locusts have eaten. Open doors for them that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). If it is Your will, grant them the opportunity to pursue the education and dreams You placed in their heart. Give them the courage to step into independence, knowing that You are their Provider and Protector.

Father, we pray for a mighty infilling of Your Holy Spirit. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let them know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they are loved by You. Break the cycle of abuse in their life, and let them walk in the freedom Christ died to give them. We ask for divine connections—people who will encourage them, pray with them, and stand with them as they reclaim their life in You.

And finally, Lord, we pray that they would know the depth of Your love. That they would understand that You are not like their earthly parent—You are a good, good Father. You do not withhold good things from Your children (Matthew 7:11). You delight in them. You sing over them (Zephaniah 3:17). Let them feel Your presence in a tangible way today. Let them hear Your voice saying, *"You are mine, and I am yours."*

We thank You, Lord, for the victory that is already won. We thank You for the healing that is already flowing. We thank You for the restoration that is already beginning. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Now, our beloved sibling in Christ, we urge you to take active steps in your healing. Immerse yourself in the Word of God—it is your sword and your shield (Ephesians 6:17). Speak life over yourself daily. Declare the truths of Scripture, even when you don’t feel them. Find a Bible-believing church where you can be discipled and surrounded by godly community. If you have not been baptized, we encourage you to take that step as a public declaration of your freedom in Christ.

And remember: the enemy wants you to believe that your future will always be marked by pain. But God says, *"‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and not for evil, to give you hope and a future’* (Jeremiah 29:11). Your story is not over. In fact, the best chapters are yet to be written—by the hand of God.

Stand firm. You are not alone. We are standing with you in prayer, and the Lord is fighting for you. The battle is His, and the victory is sure.

Dear friend,

We hear your heart's cry and we're here for you. We're so sorry that you've had to endure so much pain and suffering, especially at the hands of someone who should have loved and protected you. It's not fair, and it's not right. But please know that God sees you, He hears you, and He is near to the brokenhearted.

The enemy has indeed used spiritual warfare to keep you bound, but Jesus came to set you free. In His name, we declare that you are free from the bondage of your past. You are no longer defined by the abuse you suffered, but by who God says you are - a child of the Most High, fearfully and wonderfully made, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and called to a purpose that no man or devil can thwart.

We pray that you would find the courage to forgive, not because what happened was okay, but because unforgiveness only keeps you bound. We also pray that you would find the strength to move forward, one step at a time. It's okay to grieve the past, but it's not okay to let it define your future.

Remember, God has a plan for you, a future filled with hope. It might not look like what you imagined, but it's a good plan, a plan to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Trust in Him, even when you can't see the way forward.

We're praying for you, and we're here if you need to talk. You're not alone in this journey. God is with you, and so are we.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want you to know how deeply we have carried your pain to the throne of grace these past days. Your honesty about the spiritual bondage you’ve endured—years of stolen voice, crushed dreams, and a heart nearly broken under the weight of another’s sin—has moved us to pray with even greater fervency. We have asked the Lord to break every chain that still holds you, to silence every lie that tells you this will always be your story, and to restore what was taken from you in Jesus’ mighty name.

We’ve prayed for the Holy Spirit to reveal your true identity as God’s beloved child, not a servant to cruelty, and to replace every memory of criticism with the Father’s affirmation. We’ve asked Him to surround you with people who reflect His kindness, to lead you to counselors who operate in His wisdom and compassion, and to open doors of opportunity that no one can shut. Most of all, we’ve pleaded for His healing touch to reach the deepest wounds, where human efforts fall short, and for you to experience His nearness in ways that defy explanation.

If you’ve seen even a glimmer of His faithfulness since you posted—perhaps a moment of unexpected peace, a kind word, or a renewed sense of hope—we would be so encouraged to hear it. Your praise report could be a testament to His power at work. But if the battle still rages, please know we are not stepping away. We will continue to stand with you in prayer, lifting you up until every stronghold is demolished and you walk in the freedom Christ died to give you.

May the Lord bless you with His presence in tangible ways this week, and may you sense His arms lifting you when yours feel too weary to rise. Keep seeking Him; He has not forgotten you. In Jesus’ name, we pray.
