🏋🏽‍♂️ Spiritual growth of young men, 2 Peter 3:18, Col 1:9-12, Disciplined Spiritual Duties, 1 Tim 4:7, Study, 2 Tim 2:15, Pray, Luke 18:1-3...

Your prayer for the spiritual growth of these young men is good and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord with thanksgiving.

We ask the Father in the name of Jesus that they may grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as it is written in 2 Peter 3:18, and that they may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, walking worthy of the Lord and bearing fruit in every good work as in Colossians 1:9-12. We pray that they will train themselves for godliness as in 1 Timothy 4:7, giving themselves to disciplined duties of study to show themselves approved as in 2 Timothy 2:15, and to prayer without ceasing as taught in Luke 18 and 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 and Ephesians 6:18-19.

We ask for the blessing of Numbers 6:22-27 to rest upon them, for wisdom from above as promised in James 1:5, and for love for God with all the heart and love for neighbor as self according to Mark 12:30-31. We pray that their love may abound in knowledge and discernment, that they may make wise choices and live blameless lives filled with the fruit of righteousness until the day of Christ as in Philippians 1:9-11, showing the fruit of the Holy Spirit in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control as in Galatians 5:22-23, and love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith as in 1 Timothy 1:5.

We also pray for healing and wholeness according to Psalm 103:2-5, Isaiah 53:5 and 1 Peter 2:24, for hunger for the Word as in 1 Peter 2:2, for the spirit of wisdom and revelation as in Ephesians 1:17-20, for boldness in evangelism with the Lord working with them as in Mark 16:15-20, for true worship in spirit and truth as in John 4:23, for the gifts of the Holy Spirit as in 1 Corinthians 12:4-8, and for steadfast intercession and rejoicing and thankfulness as in Isaiah 62:1-6, 1 Timothy 2:1-4 and Philippians 4:6-7.

We remember your request for their protection, and we pray as the Lord taught us to pray, lead them not into temptation but deliver them from the evil one as in Matthew 6:13 and Luke 11:4, and keep them from the world as Jesus prayed in John 17:15. Scripture teaches that prayer is a powerful weapon in temptations and that God is faithful and will not let them be tempted beyond what they can bear but will provide the way of escape that they may endure it as in 1 Corinthians 10:13. Though temptations and afflictions come, they can be for good when they drive us to prayer and to reliance on God.

We pray that these young men, though young in years, may be mature in Christ, showing temperance and courage and self control, for it is possible to be old in youth when one walks wisely before God. May the Lord guard them from sin and keep their lips from deceit as in Zephaniah 3:13, and keep them from being led astray by pride as warned in 1 Corinthians 8:1.

We thank God in advance trusting His promises as in Mark 11:23-24, and we commit these young men to the Lord asking that they grow in prayer as in Luke 11:1-11, continue with one accord in prayer, and be kept blameless. May the Lord answer according to His will and for His glory. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your burden for the spiritual growth of young men is encouraging and it is right to bring it before the Lord so faithfully. God desires that they grow in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, and that they be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so they may walk worthy of Him, bearing fruit and increasing in the knowledge of God.

Pray that the Lord will help them to discipline themselves for godliness. Growth does not happen by accident. It comes through steady spiritual practices that must be chosen day by day. Pray that they will be diligent to study the Word so they can rightly handle the truth, and that they will give themselves to prayer, learning to pray continually, to rejoice always and to give thanks in everything, seeking Him with persistence and confidence.

Scripture says to young men, you are strong and you have overcome the evil one because the word of God abides in you. That is the secret of strength. When the Word lives richly inside, it gives discernment, wisdom for wise choices, and power to live blameless and fruitful lives until the day of Christ. Pray that they will hunger for the Word as for pure milk, that God will give them revelation and understanding, and that love will abound in them with knowledge and discernment, so their lives show the fruit of the Spirit, love from a pure heart, a good conscience and sincere faith.

Remember the example of the young men in Babylon who purposed in their hearts not to defile themselves even when surrounded by temptation and opportunity. Though far from home and offered the favors of the court, they stood firm. God honors that kind of early commitment. Pray that these young men will also purpose in their hearts to remain unspotted, to worship in spirit and truth, to use the gifts the Spirit gives for the building up of others, and to share the gospel with boldness, trusting God to work with signs that confirm His Word.

You also asked for protection, and that is vital to pray. Temptation is common to everyone and it tests faith, and that testing can develop patience as we learn to wait on God. Yet temptation itself, as a solicitation to evil, does not come from God but from the enemy. The enemy suggests a shortcut and promises immediate fulfillment if we will step off God's path. Being tempted is not sin. Even Jesus was tempted. Sin comes when desire is conceived and we yield and follow the wrong path. In every temptation we must choose whether to walk according to the flesh or according to the Spirit.

Take comfort in this promise, that God is faithful. He will not allow His children to be tempted beyond what they are able to bear, and with every temptation He will provide a way of escape so it can be endured. When the way is provided we must take it. Pray as Jesus taught, that the Father would not lead them into temptation but deliver them from the evil one, and as Jesus prayed, that they would be kept from the evil one while they remain in the world. Pray that they would be kept from sin and walk in purity.

We join you in asking for wisdom for them, for blessing, for healing and restoration, for a deep love for God and for others, and for lives that intercede for the lost and rejoice in hope. We thank God in advance, trusting that as we ask according to His will in the name of Jesus, He hears and answers. May the Lord cause these young men to grow strong in Him, to stand firm, and to bring forth much fruit for His glory. Amen.
