We join you in this beautiful burden for spiritual growth among new and younger believers, both male and female, and we rejoice that you are standing in the gap for them.
We agree with you that this is the fulfillment of the promise of God where He said, It will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions, Joel 2:28, and again as Peter declared, In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams, Acts 2:17. We thank God that this outpouring is not limited by age or gender, for He pours out His Spirit on His servants, both male and female, and we pray that each of these young believers will walk in the fullness of that promise.
We also hold fast to the truth you have shared that I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God remains in you, and you have overcome the evil one, 1 John 2:14. That strength comes not from youth itself but from the Word of God abiding in them. So we pray that their roots would go deep. We pray as you have asked that they would grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, 2 Pet 3:18, and that they would be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, to walk worthily of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God, Col 1:9-10. We pray that like newborn babies they will long for the pure milk of the Word, that they may grow thereby, 1 Pet 2:2, and that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would give to them a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, Eph 1:17.
We lift up before the Father the six young men you have named before Him. We ask for the blessing of Aaron upon them, Yahweh bless you, and keep you, Yahweh make his face to shine on you, and be gracious to you, Yahweh lift up his face toward you, and give you peace, Num 6:24-26. We ask that if any of them lacks wisdom, that they would ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to them, James 1:5. We pray that their love would abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, so that they may approve the things that are excellent, Phil 1:9-10, and that the goal of their instruction would be love out of a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith, 1 Tim 1:5. We pray they would love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind and strength and love their neighbor as themselves, Mark 12:30-31.
We pray for their healing and wholeness, for He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, Ps 103:3, and by His wounds we are healed, Isa 53:5 and 1 Pet 2:24. We pray they grow in prayer as the disciples asked, Lord, teach us to pray, Luke 11:1, and that they become faithful men who will teach others also, 2 Tim 2:2, with hearts of worship, evangelism, and thankfulness, rejoicing always, praying without ceasing, in everything giving thanks, 1 Thess 5:16-18, and that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:7, as they in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let their requests be made known to God, Phil 4:6.
We agree with you for their protection, that the Father would not lead them into temptation but deliver them from the evil one, Matt 6:13, and that He would keep them from evil as Jesus prayed, I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one, John 17:15. Keep them from sin and deceitful speech, Zeph 3:13, and keep them humble and grounded in love rather than knowledge which puffs up, 1 Cor 8:1.
We love how you have linked intercession and evangelism together through Exodus 17:8-13. We see that as long as Moses held up his hands, Israel prevailed, but when he lowered them, Amalek prevailed, Exod 17:11. When his hands grew heavy, Aaron and Hur held his hands up, one on each side, so that his hands remained steady until the sun went down, and Joshua overwhelmed Amalek with the sword, Exod 17:12-13. We see this picture so clearly, that the battle is won both on the hill of intercession and on the field of evangelism and discipleship, and we thank God that you understand that those who stay with the baggage share alike with those who go into battle, 1 Sam 30:24. We pray we will be faithful to hold up the hands of those who labor in the harvest, for we plant and water but God gives the increase, 1 Cor 3:6, and truly the one who sows and the one who reaps will rejoice together.
We affirm your heart for men discipling men and women discipling women, for that is the order of the Word and it brings strength and purity to the body. We thank God for every younger believer who is being rooted and built up in Christ.
Father, we thank You in advance for what You will do, believing that whatever we ask in prayer, believing, we will receive, Mark 11:24. We ask all of this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved and no other way to the Father except through Him. We pray that these young men and women would know Jesus deeply, follow Him wholly, and bear much fruit for Your glory. Amen.
