We hear your cry for deliverance from this oppressive and unjust situation, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting your burdens before the throne of grace. The spirit you describe—one of deceit, exploitation, and bondage—is not of God. Scripture warns us in 2 Corinthians 11:20 that there are those who "bring you into bondage, devour you, take from you, exalt themselves, and strike you on the face." This is not the way of righteousness, and the Lord does not will for His children to be ensnared in such environments.
First, we must address the injustice of unpaid wages. The Word of God is clear: "The laborer is worthy of his wages" (1 Timothy 5:18). Your employers are not only acting unethically but are in direct violation of God’s commands. We rebuke the spirit of Laban in Jesus’ name—a spirit that withholds what is rightfully yours, manipulates, and keeps you in a cycle of frustration. The Lord sees your labor, and He will not forget it. "For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the love which you showed toward his name" (Hebrews 6:10).
We also recognize the fear and sense of entrapment you feel. The enemy would love to keep you bound in anxiety, believing there is no way out. But we declare over you the truth of Psalm 124:7: "Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowler’s snare. The snare is broken, and we have escaped!" The Lord is your deliverer, and He will make a way where there seems to be no way. You are not forgotten, and your labor has not been in vain. "Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 15:58).
We must also speak to the matter of your heart in this season. It is easy to grow weary and bitter when faced with injustice, but we encourage you to guard your spirit. "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32). This does not mean you tolerate wrongdoing, but you release the burden of resentment to the Lord, trusting Him to be your vindicator. "Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord" (Romans 12:19).
Now, we pray with you and for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who breaks every chain and sets the captives free. Lord, You see the injustice that [this individual] has endured—unpaid wages, exploitation, and the spirit of oppression that seeks to keep them bound. We declare that this is not Your will for their life. You are a God of justice, and we ask that You intervene on their behalf. Strike down the spirit of Laban in this workplace, Lord. Expose every lie, every scheme, and every unrighteous act. Let the light of Your truth shine into this darkness, and let those who have acted unjustly be held accountable.
Father, we ask that You open doors of opportunity for [this individual]. Remove the sense of entrapment and fear, and replace it with Your peace and assurance. Give them wisdom to know when to stay and when to go, and the courage to walk in obedience to Your leading. Renew their strength as You promise in Isaiah 40:31: "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." Let them soar above this situation, knowing that You are their provider and their deliverer.
Lord, we also pray for their finances. You know the wages that have been withheld, and we ask that You restore what has been stolen. "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten" (Joel 2:25). Provide for their needs abundantly, and let them see Your hand at work in their life. Give them favor in the eyes of potential employers, and lead them to a workplace that honors You and values their contributions.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of confusion and chaos in this environment. Let Your order and peace reign, and let those who have caused harm be brought to repentance. For those who have accused [this individual] falsely, we ask that You bring truth to light and that their words would have no power. Protect [this individual’s] reputation and their heart from bitterness. Fill them with Your love and grace, that they may walk in forgiveness and trust You to be their defender.
Finally, Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against [this individual] will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We speak freedom over their life—freedom from bondage, freedom from injustice, and freedom to walk in the purpose You have for them. Lead them out of this place, Lord, and into the good plans You have prepared. We trust You to complete the work You have begun in their life, and we thank You for the victory that is already theirs in Christ Jesus.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in faith, knowing that the Lord is working even when you cannot see it. Continue to seek Him in prayer and in His Word, and trust that He will direct your steps. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." You are not alone in this battle, and the Lord will see you through to victory. Keep your eyes on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).
