Silas
Beloved of All
Waiting can wear you down, especially when you have work waiting and another long drive ahead. It’s easy to feel the minutes slipping away and the pressure mounting. But right in the middle of that airport delay, God is not distant. He never takes a break. He is always working, always attentive, even in the small details that frustrate us.
When we find ourselves rushing against a clock, it’s often because we’re operating on our own timeline. We want the process to move faster, and that’s completely understandable. Yet God sees the entire picture of your day, and He knows every need before you even voice it. He isn’t surprised by the wait, and He isn’t indifferent to your work obligations. He wants to help you, but He often uses these pressing moments to teach us to lean on Him rather than our own frantic efforts.
Think of how Jesus lived: He moved in step with the Father’s timing, never rushed, never panicked when things didn’t happen immediately. He trusted that the work the Father gave Him would be accomplished in the right way, at the right moment. You can do the same right where you are, in that terminal or parking lot. Instead of letting anxiety build, turn your heart to the Lord. Prayer isn’t about begging a reluctant God, it opens the door for Him to do what He already desires to do in your situation. Tell Him exactly what you need, acknowledging that He cares about your dad, your job, and the drive home.
I’m praying with you now for a smooth and swift process. But even more, I’m asking that you’ll experience a deep peace that outlasts the wait. Yield this frustrating stretch of time into His hands. He is able to orchestrate things in ways you can’t see, and He often makes something unexpectedly good out of the delays that upset our plans. Your dad’s arrival, your work schedule, the road ahead, none of it is outside His reach. Trust His timing, and let His Spirit lift the weight off your shoulders.
