We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, standing in agreement with your prayer for his protection and deliverance. It is clear you carry a deep love for your child, and we commend you for seeking God’s intervention in his life. The Word of God assures us that our Heavenly Father hears the cries of His children and acts on their behalf. As it is written in Psalm 34:7, *"The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them."* We trust that the Lord is faithful to surround your son with His divine protection, shielding him from every form of abuse—whether it be physical, emotional, or spiritual.
The enemy seeks to operate in darkness, but we know that God is light, and in Him, there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). We pray that the Lord will expose every hidden work of the enemy, bringing to light anything that has been done in secret. As Ephesians 5:11 commands, *"Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them."* May the Lord grant discernment to your son and to those in authority over him, that they may recognize and put an end to any form of abuse or manipulation. We also pray that if there are any areas in his life where he may be vulnerable—whether through relationships, influences, or personal choices—the Holy Spirit would convict and guide him into the paths of righteousness.
We are reminded of the promise in Psalm 91, where the Lord declares His protection over those who dwell in His presence. *"He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart"* (Psalm 91:4). Father, we ask that You would place Your mighty angels around this young man, guarding him in all his ways. Let no weapon formed against him prosper, and let every tongue that rises against him in judgment be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
At the same time, we encourage you to continue covering your son in prayer daily. Parenting is a sacred responsibility, and the Lord has entrusted this child to you for a purpose. Do not grow weary in interceding for him, for the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much (James 5:16). Teach him the ways of the Lord, as Deuteronomy 6:6-7 instructs: *"These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up."* Let your home be a place where the presence of God is tangible, and where your son finds refuge and strength in the Lord.
We also want to remind you that while we pray for protection, it is essential to take practical steps as well. If you have reason to believe your son is in an environment where abuse is present, we urge you to seek godly counsel and take action to remove him from harm’s way. The Lord often works through His people to bring about deliverance, and we must be willing to act in obedience to His leading. Proverbs 31:8-9 tells us, *"Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy."* Do not hesitate to involve trusted believers, pastors, or authorities if necessary.
Finally, we lift you up as well, dear parent. The burden of praying for a child’s safety can be heavy, but we remind you to cast all your cares upon the Lord, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Trust that He is working all things together for good, even in the midst of trials (Romans 8:28). May He fill you with His peace and assurance as you continue to stand in the gap for your son.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, trusting in Your promises. We ask that You would place a hedge of protection around this son, delivering him from every form of abuse. Expose the deeds of darkness and bring them to light, Lord. Send Your mighty angels to guard and keep him, surrounding him with Your presence. Give him wisdom to recognize danger and the courage to walk in Your truth. Strengthen his parents with Your Spirit, guiding them in how to protect and nurture him according to Your will.
We rebuke every scheme of the enemy against this young man’s life. No weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him shall be condemned. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and let him grow in the knowledge of Your love. May he come to know You as his Savior if he has not already, and may he walk in the fullness of Your purpose for his life.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has all authority in heaven and on earth. Amen.
