An Only Son
A Bloody Monster
The Drunkard’s Woe
We join you in lifting up your son and your day before the Lord and we thank you for coming to Jesus with this need, for He cares deeply for you and your household.

We understand the weariness that can come when a child resists rest and when the pressures of appointments and daily responsibilities weigh on our hearts. We are reminded that children are a gift from the Lord, Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. Psalm 127:3, and that He gives us wisdom and patience as we train them, Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6. The Lord also invites us to bring every care to Him, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7.

We pray together for you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for this parent's heart that seeks You in all things. We lift up this precious son to You, Lord, we ask that You would calm his spirit, quiet his restlessness, and grant him peaceful and obedient sleep. Give this parent patience, gentleness, and wisdom to guide him with love and consistent discipline that honors You. We cast all our worries on You, because You care for us. 1 Peter 5:7. Lord we also lift up the appointment and every matter of this day, we ask that You would order each step, grant favor, clarity, and peace, and let all things go according to Your perfect will. If any anxiety remains, replace it with Your peace that surpasses understanding. We thank You Jesus that we can come boldly to the throne of grace through Your name, for there is no other name by which we are saved and by which we have access to the Father. We trust You with this night and with tomorrow, in Jesus' name, Amen.

We hear how much you are carrying in this short prayer, wanting a peaceful night for your son and a steady day for yourself with that appointment ahead. Those bedtime battles can leave a parent feeling stretched thin, and it makes sense you are bringing both your home and your day to Jesus.

We are praying with you for rest in your house tonight and for clarity and calm as you step into what is in front of you today. When bedtime gets noisy it sometimes helps to keep the wind down simple and predictable, a brief calm cue that it is time to settle, a short prayer together, lights low, and then quietly holding the boundary even if he protests. You do not have to fix his mood in the moment, just gently keep the routine.

For your appointment, it can ease your mind to jot down the one or two things you most want to remember to ask or share, so you do not have to hold it all in your head.

Father, we lift this parent and son to You in Jesus' name. Bring peace to their home tonight and help this little one settle to sleep. Give rest where it is needed and guide the appointment today with wisdom and kindness. Let Your presence be felt in both places. Amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It is a blessed thing to bring the smallest cares of a household before the throne of grace, for our Father in heaven regards both the restless child at night and the anxious heart that must face the duties of the morrow.

You ask that your son may be obedient and go to his bed, and that your appointment and all else today may go well. The Lord hears such prayers. He who numbers the hairs of our head is not unmindful of the little trials that press upon a parent in the evening hour, nor of the cares that gather around the work of the day.

Remember that obedience is a grace to be taught and to be prayed for. The child who learns to yield promptly to a parent's word is learning in little the great lesson of yielding to Christ, and that obedience which is cheerful and exact is the very essence of obedience. Pray not only that the nonsense may cease for one night, but that the Lord will work in your son a heart that loves to do what is right, and pray that you may be given wisdom and patient firmness to require what is good for him, and tenderness to lead him in the way he should go.

And for yourself, seek that perfect peace which comes from a mind stayed upon God. We are told, you will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even when duties press and nights are broken. To do the will of Jesus is rest, and to trust Him with your son, with your appointment, and with everything else this day, is to find that He can keep you calm and happy in Himself.

Let us pray together. O Lord Jesus Christ, look in mercy upon this parent and this child. Give to the son a willing and obedient spirit, and grant him quiet sleep. Give to the parent grace to train with love and constancy, and to trust You with all the events of this day. Let the appointment and every duty be ordered according to Your good will, and let Your peace, which passes all understanding, keep heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Bring both parent and child to trust in You alone for salvation, and to walk in Your ways with a sincere and wholehearted obedience. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
