We come before the Lord with hearts full of hope and trust, lifting up this dear mother’s request for her son as he tries out for the JV baseball team. Father, we thank You for the gifts and talents You have placed within him, and we ask that You would go before him in these tryouts. Strengthen his body, sharpen his mind, and steady his hands as he demonstrates the hard work he has put in. We pray that his efforts would be seen and recognized, not for his own glory, but for the opportunity to grow in discipline, teamwork, and character—qualities that honor You.
Lord, we know that You have a plan for this young man, and whether he makes the team or not, we ask that You would use this experience to draw him closer to You. If it is Your will, we pray he would indeed make the team with his friends, for fellowship and encouragement are good gifts from You. But if he does not, we ask that You would comfort his heart and remind him that his worth is not found in his performance or the approval of others, but in Christ alone. Help him to trust in Your perfect timing and purpose, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).
We also lift up this mother’s concerns, Father. It is natural for parents to worry about their children, but we ask that You would replace her anxiety with peace. Remind her that You hold her son in Your hands, and that You are faithful to guide him in every season of life. May she find rest in the truth that You are a good Father who cares deeply for her and her son (1 Peter 5:7).
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear or discouragement that may try to take root in this young man’s heart. Fill him instead with confidence—not in his own abilities, but in Your strength and provision. Let him remember that he can do all things through Christ who strengthens him (Philippians 4:13). May this time of tryouts be an opportunity for him to grow in humility, perseverance, and faith, trusting that You are with him every step of the way.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who calms our fears and leads us into all truth. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it. Amen.
