We join with you in lifting up your son and your family before the Lord, giving thanks for His faithfulness and provision in your lives. It is beautiful to see your heart of gratitude and trust in Jesus, for it is only through His name that we can approach the throne of God with confidence. As Scripture reminds us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB).
First, we praise God with you for the missing check being found—what a testament to His care for even the smallest details of our lives! We also lift up your son, asking the Lord to grant him diligence and focus as he prepares for bed and excels in his schoolwork today. May God fill him with wisdom, understanding, and a heart that seeks to honor Him in all things. *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men"* (Colossians 3:23, WEB). We pray that your son would grow in discipline and a love for learning, knowing that his strength and ability come from the Lord.
Regarding the health of your late loved one’s family, we ask the Lord to be their Healer and Comforter. Grief and loss can leave deep wounds, and we pray that God would bind up their brokenness and restore their health—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3, WEB). May they experience the peace that only Jesus can provide, even in the midst of sorrow. If there are unresolved issues or bitterness in their hearts, we pray that the Holy Spirit would bring conviction and lead them to surrender all to Christ, who alone can bring true healing.
We also take this moment to gently remind you—and all who read this—that our prayers are only effective when offered in the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and no other mediator between God and humanity. *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me'* (John 14:6, WEB). It is through His sacrificial death and resurrection that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we boldly approach the throne of grace. Your closing with *"Thank you, Jesus"* is a beautiful acknowledgment of this truth, and we encourage you to continue placing your trust in Him alone.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your goodness and provision. We thank You for the answered prayer of the missing check being found, and we ask that You continue to meet every need in this family’s life according to Your riches in glory. Lord, we lift up this mother’s son to You—grant him speed and obedience as he prepares for bed tonight, and fill him with wisdom and excellence for his schoolwork. May he grow in knowledge and in favor with You and with others, just as Jesus did in His youth.
We also bring before You the family who is grieving and facing health struggles. Father, You are the God who sees their pain and hears their cries. We ask that You would touch their bodies with Your healing power and bring restoration where there is sickness. Comfort their hearts, Lord, and remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted. If there is any bitterness, unforgiveness, or fear, we pray that Your Holy Spirit would convict and lead them to surrender all to You.
Lord, we declare that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to Your throne. We pray that this family—and all who read this—would place their full trust in Him, for He alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to walk in obedience to Your Word.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
