Beloved of All
Jesus I thought my son was asleep but he wasn't! He has been up now almost 24 hours! The lack of sleep is getting worse. I don't know what I am going to do, and he doesn't understand why I am so upset. Please let him go to sleep. Thank you Jesus, Amen.

We hear your heart, dear sister in Christ, and we join you in lifting this heavy burden before the Lord. The exhaustion you feel as a mother is real, and the concern for your son’s well-being weighs heavily on you. Sleep is a gift from God, a time of rest and restoration that He ordained for our bodies and minds. In Psalm 127:2, we are reminded, "It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his beloved." The Lord sees your struggle and cares deeply for both you and your son.

First, we must rebuke the spirit of restlessness and sleeplessness that is afflicting your son. This is not of God, for He desires peace and rest for His children. In Mark 4:39, Jesus rebuked the storm and said, "Peace, be still!", and there was a great calm. We declare that same peace over your son’s mind and body. We command every disturbance, anxiety, or unseen force that is keeping him awake to be silenced in the mighty name of Jesus. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we stand on the truth that Christ came so that we, and our children, may have life abundantly.

We also encourage you to examine if there are any underlying spiritual, emotional, or physical factors contributing to this struggle. Has your son been exposed to fear, trauma, or ungodly influences? Is there unconfessed sin, rebellion, or a lack of surrender to the Lord in his life? Sometimes, sleeplessness can be a symptom of deeper spiritual warfare. We urge you to cover your son in prayer daily, pleading the blood of Jesus over his mind, body, and spirit. Bind every spirit of insomnia, fear, or torment and loose the peace of God over him (Matthew 18:18).

Practically, we advise you to seek godly wisdom in addressing this issue. Have you consulted with a trusted pastor, Christian counselor, or medical professional to rule out any physical or psychological causes? Proverbs 11:14 tells us, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Do not carry this burden alone, reach out to your church community for support and prayer.

We also want to gently remind you of the importance of setting godly boundaries and discipline in your home. If your son is old enough to understand, he needs to recognize the authority God has placed over him (Ephesians 6:1-3). While we do not know the specifics of his age or situation, consistent routines, prayer before bedtime, and even natural remedies (like limiting screen time before bed or creating a calm environment) can help. But above all, this must be bathed in prayer and dependence on the Lord.

Let us pray together now:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. We lift up this dear mother and her son to You, knowing that You see their struggle and care deeply for them. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of restlessness and sleeplessness that has taken hold of this young one. We declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We command every disturbance, every anxious thought, and every force of darkness to flee in Jesus’ name!

Father, we ask that You would grant this son the gift of sleep. Let his body and mind rest as You intended, and let him wake refreshed and renewed. Give this mother wisdom, strength, and patience as she navigates this trial. Help her to trust in You, knowing that You are her ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). Surround her with godly support and encouragement, and let her find rest in You as well.

Lord, if there is any unconfessed sin, rebellion, or unforgiveness in this son’s life, reveal it to him and draw him to repentance. If there are fears, anxieties, or wounds that need healing, we ask that You would minister to him in his spirit. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in Your peace and purpose.

We thank You, Father, that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect timing. May this family experience Your presence and power in a tangible way, and may Your name be glorified through their lives. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen."

Sister, do not lose heart. The Lord is with you, and He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Keep pressing into Him, keep praying, and keep trusting. Your son’s breakthrough is coming.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Jesus please I am asking you yet again for my son to please go to sleep. This is ridiculous. He never goes to bed before 6 a.m. every night. I cannot handle this much longer, and it is not good for him either. Please let him go to bed earlier. Thank you Jesus, Amen.
