We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear parent’s concerns for their son and their own weariness. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and renews our strength. We ask that You would touch this young man’s body, Lord. If it is merely allergies, bring swift relief so that he may finish these last two weeks of school without hindrance. But if there is something more, we ask for Your wisdom for his parents and doctors, that they may discern Your will and act accordingly. Guard his health, Lord, and let him feel Your peace and vitality even in the midst of exams and deadlines.
We also lift up this weary parent, feeling the weight of so many responsibilities. Father, You promise in Your Word, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest"* (Matthew 11:28). We claim that promise now, Lord. Renew their energy, not just physically, but spiritually and emotionally. Help them to cast their cares upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Remind them that their strength comes from You alone—*"Those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint"* (Isaiah 40:31).
We also want to gently encourage this parent to examine their heart before You. Are there areas where they are relying on their own strength rather than surrendering to Yours? Are they seeking Your guidance in their daily tasks, or are they trying to carry the load alone? Father, we ask that You would help them to abide in You, for apart from You, they can do nothing (John 15:5). Teach them to number their days, that they may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12), and to prioritize their time according to Your will.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that may be trying to take hold in this family. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that this family will walk in faith, trusting in Your provision and timing. We pray that they would find their rest in You, knowing that You are in control of every detail of their lives.
And finally, Lord, we thank You for the privilege of coming before You in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His sacrifice and resurrection that we have access to Your throne. We pray all these things in His mighty name, believing that You hear us and will answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.
