When life presses in from every side, a restless child, unfinished projects, uncertainty about provision, it can feel like more than you can bear. Yet the same God who made sure a baby was born in the right town, despite every obstacle, is attending to these very things you have placed before Him. He does not always lift the hardship away; often He takes you through it, showing Himself faithful in the middle of the strain.

Your son needs what you are trying to give him: structure, a sense of purpose, the reward of completing what he starts. But the seeds planted in childhood grow at their own pace, and the Shepherd calls each lamb by name. The holy writings you have known can make him wise; they are God’s own breath, able to shape a life from the inside out. Keep speaking them, keep praying them, and let the Word do its deep work. You are not alone in this, the Shepherd goes before, and His sheep learn to hear His voice.

That written confirmation you need is not a small thing. It is right to want a clear, settled assurance. Think of it this way: not everything was written down, but what has been written is enough to lead you to life and rest. The Saviour once told an anxious disciple, “You follow me.” That remains the chief business. Your need is known. The person you are contacting is not beyond His reach, if He can move the heart of an emperor to order a census, He can prompt a simple reply. When you ask, do so with quiet grace, and then leave the outcome with Him.

You ended your prayer with thanks to Jesus, and that is the very posture that will carry you through. He took on human flesh to win your redemption; surely He will care for each lesser burden. So tonight, hand Him the sleeplessness, the unfinished work, and the lingering worry. Hear His voice, follow His lead, and let your heart rest in the love that will not let you go.
