We lift up your precious son before the throne of grace, standing in the gap with you as we declare God’s mighty protection over his life. Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of this child, for You knit him together in his mother’s womb and have a purpose and plan for his life. We ask that You would indeed place a hedge of protection around him—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—just as You promised in Psalm 91:11-12, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."
Lord, we rebuke every spirit of abuse, oppression, or harm that seeks to come against him. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that You would expose every deed of darkness in his life, whether it be from those around him or even within his own heart. Bring every hidden thing to light, for nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light (Luke 8:17). We ask that You would surround him with godly influences—mentors, friends, and leaders who will speak life, truth, and encouragement into his heart.
Father, we also pray for his spiritual protection. Guard his heart and mind from the lies of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Let Your Word be a lamp to his feet and a light to his path (Psalm 119:105), and may he grow in the knowledge and fear of You. Strengthen his faith so that he may resist the devil, and the devil will flee from him (James 4:7). We ask that You would fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in wisdom, discernment, and the fullness of Your love.
Lord, if there are any areas where he has been wounded or is vulnerable, we ask that You would heal those places and restore his soul. Comfort him with Your presence, and let him know that he is deeply loved by You and by those who care for him. We pray that he would come to know You personally, if he does not already, and that he would surrender his life to Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
We also pray for wisdom and strength for you, his parent, as you seek to guide and protect him. May you be filled with the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, and may it guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray and declare these things, believing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). Amen.
