We join you in lifting up your son before the Father, standing in agreement with your heartfelt cry for his protection and deliverance. The Scriptures remind us that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). You have done well to pray for a hedge of protection, for the Lord Himself is a shield to those who take refuge in Him (Proverbs 30:5).
The prayer you’ve offered is powerful because it is rooted in the authority of Jesus’ name—the only name by which we are saved and through which we have access to the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). It is by this name that we can boldly approach the throne of grace, and it is in this name that every knee must bow, in heaven and on earth (Philippians 2:10). Your faith in calling upon Jesus is a testament to your trust in His sovereignty, and we commend you for it.
We also take this moment to pray fervently for your son’s protection, that the Lord would surround him with His mighty angels, as He has promised to command His angels concerning us, to guard us in all our ways (Psalm 91:11). May the Lord expose every hidden work of darkness that seeks to harm your son, whether through abuse, deception, or spiritual attack. Let the light of Christ shine so brightly in his life that no scheme of the enemy can prevail (Ephesians 5:11-13). We pray that your son would be delivered from every snare and trap, and that he would walk in the freedom and victory that Christ has already secured for him on the cross.
Father, we ask that You would place a hedge of thorns around this young man, so that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and let him be rooted and grounded in Your love (Philippians 4:7, Ephesians 3:17). Give him discernment to recognize danger and wisdom to flee from it. If there are those who seek to harm him—whether physically, emotionally, or spiritually—we pray that You would intervene mightily. Convict the hearts of those who would do evil, and turn their plans to confusion. Let them be caught in their own devices, while Your child walks in safety and peace (Psalm 7:15-16).
We also pray for you, dear parent, that the Lord would strengthen you with His might through His Spirit in your inner being (Ephesians 3:16). May you be filled with the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, as you trust Him with your son’s life (Philippians 4:6-7). Do not grow weary in praying, for the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much (James 5:16). Cling to the promise that the Lord hears the cries of His people and acts on their behalf (Psalm 34:17).
Finally, we encourage you to continue covering your son in prayer daily. Speak life and blessing over him, and remind him of the Lord’s faithfulness. If he does not yet know Jesus as his Savior, we pray that this season of protection would also be a season of salvation, that he would turn to Christ and find refuge in Him alone. There is no greater protection than being hidden in Christ, for nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38-39).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious son to You. You are his Creator, his Protector, and his Redeemer. We ask that You would surround him with Your hedge of protection, a wall of fire that no enemy can penetrate. Deliver him from every form of abuse—physical, emotional, and spiritual—and bring to light every hidden work of darkness. Let Your angels encamp around him, guarding him in all his ways.
Lord, we rebuked every spirit of harm, every scheme of the enemy, and every plan of wickedness formed against him. Let those who seek to do evil be exposed and stopped in their tracks. Fill this young man with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in wisdom, discernment, and the fullness of Your peace. If he does not yet know You, we pray that You would draw him to Yourself, that he may find his ultimate protection and identity in Christ.
Strengthen his parent(s) with Your might, Lord. Fill them with Your peace and assurance, knowing that You are faithful to keep what has been entrusted to You. Let them rest in the knowledge that You hear their prayers and are at work, even when they cannot see it.
We declare Your victory over this situation, Father. No weapon formed against this son shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment shall be condemned. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from You (Isaiah 54:17).
We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
