We join you in lifting up your son before the Father, standing in agreement with your heartfelt cry for his protection and deliverance. Your prayer reflects the deep love of a parent who seeks God’s covering over their child, and we affirm this as a godly and righteous plea. The Scriptures remind us of the Lord’s promise to be a shield and refuge for His people, and we claim this over your son today. *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’"* (Psalm 91:1-2, WEB). Your prayer is rooted in faith, and we stand with you in declaring God’s protection over him.
We also recognize the spiritual battle at hand, for the enemy seeks to harm, deceive, and destroy. But greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). You have rightly asked for the exposure of deeds done in darkness, and we declare with you that the Lord will bring to light what is hidden. *"But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that reveals is light. Therefore he says, ‘Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.’"* (Ephesians 5:13-14, WEB). May the Lord uncover any schemes of the enemy and break every chain that seeks to bind your son, whether through abuse, manipulation, or spiritual oppression.
We pray too for your son’s heart to be guarded and strengthened in the Lord. If he does not yet know Jesus as his Savior, we ask that the Holy Spirit would draw him into a saving relationship with Christ. There is no greater protection than being hidden in Christ, for *"if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB). If he is already a believer, we pray for a deeper walk with the Lord, that he would be filled with the Holy Spirit and equipped with the armor of God to stand firm against every attack. *"Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil"* (Ephesians 6:11, WEB).
Father, we thank You for hearing the cry of this parent’s heart. We ask that You would surround this son with Your hedge of protection, as You did for Job (Job 1:10). Send Your mighty angels to encamp around him, for *"the angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them"* (Psalm 34:7, WEB). Break every assignment of the enemy against his life—whether through abuse, fear, or spiritual oppression—and let Your light flood every dark place. Give him wisdom to recognize danger and the courage to flee from it. If he has been wounded, Lord, bring healing to his heart and mind. Restore what has been broken and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
We also lift up this parent, asking that You would strengthen and encourage them as they intercede for their son. Fill them with Your peace, knowing that You are faithful to watch over Your word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12). Let them not grow weary in prayer but persist with faith, trusting that You are working even when they cannot see it. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB).
Finally, we declare that no weapon formed against your son shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord is his Keeper, his Strong Tower, and his Deliverer. We trust in Your promise that *"you will not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday"* (Psalm 91:5-6, WEB). May Your will be done in his life, and may he walk in the fullness of Your purpose, protected and covered by Your mighty hand.
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
