Beloved of All
Jesus please let my son get ready for bed. He keeps promising he will go earlier, but never does. I am so tired of the late nights. Please also let my package arrive today. It is already a day late, and I need it for my son's costume. Thank you Jesus, Amen.

We hear your weariness and we join with you in bringing both of these concerns before our Father, for He cares about the small details of our daily lives as well as the deeper matters of our hearts.

We understand how exhausting those late nights can be when you are longing for rest and for your son to follow through on what he has promised. We thank you for coming to Jesus with this, as you have done, for it is through Him we have access to the Father and peace in our homes. We are encouraged that you ended your request in His name.

Scripture reminds us that children are a gift and a responsibility, and that God gives parents wisdom to guide them with both love and consistency. Proverbs 22:6 says Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. And Ephesians 6:1 says Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. At the same time, Ephesians 6:4 says You fathers, don't provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. We pray for grace for you to lead with gentle firmness, with clear and loving boundaries around bedtime, so that your son learns faithfulness in keeping his word and honoring you, and that your home may have more peace in the evenings. Colossians 3:21 also reminds us Fathers, don't provoke your children, so that they won't be discouraged, so we pray you will be given patience and creativity to make the bedtime routine calm and consistent rather than a nightly battle.

We also lift up your need for the package and the costume for your son. We know it feels urgent when something is late and you have counted on it. The Lord invites us to bring even these practical worries to Him. 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. And Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We pray for that peace to guard your heart while you wait, and we ask the Lord to provide what you need in His perfect timing.

We also pray for your rest, for the Lord sees your tiredness. Matthew 11:28 says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. May He renew your strength.

We pray together with you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus and thank You that You hear us. We lift up this dear parent who is weary from late nights, and we ask You to work in the heart of this son to be obedient and truthful in keeping his promises, to go to bed at the appointed time and to honor his parent. Give this parent wisdom, patience, and loving consistency to establish a peaceful bedtime and to train this child in Your ways. Lord, we also ask for Your provision regarding this package, that if it is Your will it would arrive today and the need for the costume would be met, and if not, that You would provide another way and grant patience and peace in the waiting. Pour out Your rest upon this home tonight, let Your peace fill the evening, and let both parent and child rise refreshed to serve You. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, our hope and our rest, Amen.

We hear how worn out you are from those late nights, and how much you were counting on that package for your son's costume. Waiting on both a child and a delivery can leave you feeling stretched thin, especially when you have promised bedtimes that keep slipping later.

It makes sense you feel tired and a little frustrated when he says he will go earlier but does not follow through. Many parents find that a clear, calm plan helps more than repeated reminders in the moment. If it helps, tonight you might try picking one simple bedtime together with him when you are both calm, with a short wind-down cue like brushing teeth and lights low at the same time, and then gently holding that line with kindness even if he protests. Small consistency over a few nights often eases the tug of war more than a big talk late at night.

For the package, we know the delay is stressful with the costume needed. Checking the tracking once today and having a simple backup idea just in case can take a little pressure off while you wait.

Father, we lift this tired parent to You and ask for rest tonight, patience and wisdom in guiding their son, and Your provision for what they need for the costume. Give them peace as they wait and strength for tomorrow. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We join with you in bringing this daily burden before the throne of grace, for our Lord cares for the small things of the home as well as the great things of the soul.

You are weary with late nights and with promises made and not kept, and this weariness is known to Him who watches over His children. The Scriptures teach us that obedience begins at home and will find its hands full enough there. To persist in scrupulous obedience throughout life may need more courage than even the martyr evinces when once and for all he gives himself to burn at the stake, and the exactness of obedience is the very essence of obedience. Probably your child, if sometimes disobedient, would still as a general rule do what you were told him, but it is in the little things that thoroughgoing and commendable obedience appears.

We pray that the Lord will give you grace to teach obedience not as the obedience of a slave tuned to the crack of the whip, nor with terror, but as the obedience of a child rendered in love. May He give your son a willing heart to hear and promptly obey, for in order to render obedience there is no need of a long probation, as soon as they hear they shall obey. And may He give you, who must require it, patience and strength and a calm spirit, for love is the mother of obedience.

We also bring before the Lord your need concerning the package which is delayed and needed for your son's costume. He who numbers the hairs of our head is not unmindful of these lesser cares. We ask that if it be His will it may come speedily and supply what you need, and if He tarry, that He will give you contentment and a way to provide in another manner, for we hope for what we see not and with patience wait for it.

Our Father in heaven, look upon this weary parent and this dear child. Grant the child a tender conscience toward his parent and toward Thee, and grant the parent wisdom to command such an obedience as is deeply spiritual and sincere, seeking not only outward conformity but the heart. Give rest tonight and strength for tomorrow, and in Thy good providence supply what is needed for the morrow. Keep this household in Thy fear and in Thy love, and bring both parent and child to that obedience of faith which flows from trusting Christ alone. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
