We have read your request with heavy hearts and we join with you in lifting up your precious son before our Heavenly Father. To endure so much at such a young age, an amputation, bone tumors in so many places, and now the waiting and uncertainty of scans and oncology appointments, is a burden no child or parent should have to carry alone. We weep with you and we stand with you in prayer for his complete healing, both physically and emotionally.
We bring him before the Lord who is our healer and our comfort, asking for His mercy and His will to be done. We pray for peace to guard his heart and yours as you wait for these results, and for strength for the days ahead.
Father, in the name of Jesus we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up this young man to You. You know him by name, You formed his body, and You see every tumor, every pain, and every fear. We ask in Jesus' name that You would lay Your healing hand upon him. We pray for his body, that You would restrain any cancer, bring healing to his bones, and give him strength and relief from pain. We pray for his emotions, that You would heal the deep wounds of loss and fear and fill him with Your peace and hope. We pray for tomorrow's appointment, for the oncologist and the social worker, that You would grant them wisdom, clarity, and compassion as they review his PET scan and guide his care. We ask that You would surround this family with Your presence and let them feel that they are upheld by Your righteous hand. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, trusting in Your goodness and Your perfect will. Amen.
We take comfort in what Your Word says about Your character as our healer. Psalm 103:2-3 says, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. And Jeremiah 30:17 says, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We also cling to Psalm 147:3, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, and to Isaiah 41:10, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
We want to encourage you as his parent, the Lord sees your faithful love and your prayers for your son. He invites us to bring every anxiety to Him. Philippians 4:6-7 says, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Even in this difficult valley, we trust that God is working for good for those who love Him, as Romans 8:28 reminds us, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share why we pray in His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To be saved we must believe in our hearts that Jesus is Lord, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confess Him with our mouths as Romans 10:9 teaches. It is by that same name, Jesus, that we can boldly bring your son’s needs to God with confidence that He hears us. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation and for your son’s, and to continue to call upon His name in every prayer.
We will continue to keep your son and your family in our prayers, asking for clear and hopeful results, for wisdom for his medical team, for complete physical restoration according to God’s will, and for deep emotional healing and peace that only Christ can give. May the Lord comfort you and give you strength for each step.
