Son/my scalp

Jesus please help my son is still up this is insane. He is just getting later and later, with no regards to how It effects everyone else. Please let him stop this. Also, please heal my scalp. I don't know what is wrong but it hurts and it looks bad. Thank you Jesus, Amen.

We hear your heart in this and we join with you in bringing both of these burdens before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We are thankful you called upon Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name we are saved and heard. As it is written, Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.

We understand your weariness and frustration with your son staying up later and later with no regard for how it affects the household. This is a heavy trial for a parent, and we want to encourage you with what Scripture teaches about family and rest. Children are called to honor their parents, as we read Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother Ephesians 6:1-2, and parents are called to train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it Proverbs 22:6. His behavior is not honoring to you or to the order God desires for the home, and it also robs him of the rest God designed for us. We are reminded that It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, to eat the bread of toil, for he gives sleep to his loved ones Psalm 127:2 and When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet Proverbs 3:24. We encourage you to continue to set loving and firm boundaries with him, to speak to him in gentleness and truth about how his choices affect everyone else, and to pray that the Lord would give him a heart of respect, self-control and consideration for others. The fruit of the Spirit includes self-control Galatians 5:23, and we pray the Lord will work that in him.

We also lift up your scalp to the Lord who is our healer. We know how painful and distressing it is when our bodies hurt and we do not understand why, and when it is visible it can feel even more discouraging. We take comfort that God sees and cares for every part of us. Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3 and I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. We trust Him as the One who heals, and we also encourage you, if you have not already, to seek wise medical counsel as well, for the Lord often uses physicians and practical care as part of His healing. We cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us 1 Peter 5:7 and we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus and we lift up this dear parent and this son to You. Lord, we ask You to touch this son's heart and bring conviction and understanding. Help him to see how his late nights affect his family and to turn toward honor, obedience and love. Grant him a desire for healthy sleep and for order, and give this parent wisdom, patience and strength to guide him with grace and truth and to establish boundaries that honor You. Lord, we also place this painful scalp condition into Your healing hands. You know what is wrong even when we do not. We ask for Your healing touch, for relief from pain, for restoration of the skin, and for wisdom for any doctors or treatment needed. Bring comfort and peace in the waiting and let Your presence be felt in this home. We thank You that You hear us when we pray in Jesus' name, and we trust You to work for good in both of these needs. Amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing these requests to the Lord daily, to continue in prayer for your son even when it feels insane and exhausting, and to rest in the Lord's care for you as well. He is faithful and He hears you.

We hear how exhausting this has been for you, watching your ### stay up later and later and feeling how it affects everyone else in the house. It makes sense you feel worn down and frustrated, and we are also sorry your scalp is hurting and looks concerning.

When sleep in the home gets this disrupted, it can help to think of boundaries as a property line. You cannot make your ### choose sleep, but you can be clear about what you are responsible to protect, like quiet hours, shared space, and your own need for rest. Many parents find a short, calm conversation during the day goes better than trying to correct it late at night when everyone is tired. Simply naming what you need for the household and what you will do to protect that rest can keep love and limits together.

It may also help to jot down for a few nights what time he is actually falling asleep and what seems to keep him up, like screens or stimulation. That simple note can make it easier to talk with him clearly and, if the pattern continues, to share with a counselor or his doctor for more support.

Since your scalp is painful and does not look right, we encourage you to have it checked promptly by your primary care doctor or dermatologist as you continue to pray for healing.

Father, we bring this weary parent before You tonight. We ask for Your peace in this home, for wisdom and gentle words between parent and ###, and for rest for everyone. Your cry has been heard and we bring it before the throne of grace with you. There is a weariness that comes from broken rest in the house, and there is a pain that comes from a suffering body, and the Lord knows both.

For your son, we pray that the Lord will give you wisdom and patience, and give him a heart to consider others. The Scripture calls children to honor and to walk in obedience, and it calls parents to nurture with love and not with provoking to wrath. It is right to set a loving and firm boundary concerning the hour of rest, to speak to him in the calm light of day rather than in the heat of the midnight hour, and to commit him continually to Christ who alone can renew the heart. We pray that the Lord, who is described as crying, O Israel, My son, My son, would draw your son to Himself, and teach him to love what is right and to regard the peace of the household. Continue to pray for him, to instruct him, and to place him before the Lord who works healing from within.

For your scalp, we join our prayer to yours for healing. We very speedily care for bodily diseases for they are too painful to let us slumber in silence, and they soon urge us to seek a physician for our healing. Do not neglect to seek wise medical counsel for what afflicts you, while you look above all to the great Physician. Our hope is that the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and that the least thing about Christ is healing. His leaves do not wither, and from Him abundant streams of healing flow down to men below. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, to show us that pardon and healing are joined together in His hand. He receives us while we are sick with sin, but it is in order to our healing, and His salvation will at last perfectly heal our bodies as well as our souls.

We pray now that the Sun of Righteousness would rise upon you with healing in His wings, that He would bind up what is broken and soothe what is inflamed, and that He would give you rest in body and in spirit. May He lift the feverish unrest from your home and give quietness, and may He touch your body with His restoring hand.

O Lord, look upon this parent made weary by sleepless nights, and upon this suffering body. Forgive sin, heal disease, and let Your grace reign. Give wisdom to guide the son, give patience and strength to the parent, and give healing according to Your perfect will. Make this trial to work a deeper trust in Christ, in whose name we pray, Amen.
