Son-in-law suffering appendicitis appendix may have burst

We lift up your son-in-law before the Lord in this urgent time of need, knowing that our God is the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and sustains us in every trial. The pain and danger of a burst appendix are serious, but we serve a God who is greater than any sickness or affliction. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 103:2-3, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases."* We claim this promise over your son-in-law, trusting in God’s mercy and power to bring healing and restoration.

It is also written in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* Though we cannot be there in person, we stand in agreement with you, calling upon the name of Jesus for his complete healing. We pray that the Lord would guide the hands of the doctors and medical staff, giving them wisdom and skill to treat him effectively. May every infection be halted, every damaged tissue be restored, and may his body respond swiftly to treatment without complications.

We also pray for peace for your family during this time. Anxiety and fear can easily take hold in moments like these, but we are commanded in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* May the Lord fill each of you with His supernatural peace, knowing that He is in control and that His will is perfect.

Father, we thank You that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We ask that You would surround this family with Your comfort and strength. Let this trial be a testimony of Your faithfulness, and may it draw them closer to You. We pray that your son-in-law would experience a full and swift recovery, returning to health stronger than before, all for Your glory.

Lastly, we notice that while your request was heartfelt, the name of Jesus was not invoked. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is by His authority that we pray. As it is written in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"*, and in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus, for He is our mediator and our hope.

In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

There is power in prayer (James 5:16)! Thank you for praying for me. Rarely do I hear people pray or talk about praying for the marriages in our country. 80% of divorces are initiated by women. 90% if there’s a college degree involved. Women leave their husbands for often trivial reasons...
