We lift up your son before the throne of grace with heavy but hopeful hearts, trusting in the Great Physician who holds all life in His hands. Your prayer touches the very heart of God, who is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We join with you in asking for His healing presence to surround your son, for the Lord is our healer (Exodus 15:26), and by His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
Father, we ask You to touch his body with Your restorative power. Remove every trace of harmful side effects from his medication, for You are the God who can reverse the effects of man’s imperfect remedies. Strengthen his lungs, Lord, and calm his anxiety, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Ease his breathing, reminding him that You are the breath of life (Genesis 2:7) and that in You, he can find peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for the medical team treating him. Grant them wisdom and discernment beyond their training, for it is You who gives wisdom generously to all who ask (James 1:5). Guide their hands, their decisions, and their words, that they may be instruments of Your healing.
We rebuke any spirit of fear or despair that may be trying to take root in this situation. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand on the promise that God has not given us a spirit of fear, and we declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).
We also want to gently remind you, and all who read this, that our prayers are heard because of the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If you or your son have not yet placed your trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the foundation of all healing, spiritual, emotional, and physical.
Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness, even when we do not see the full picture. We trust in Your timing and Your will, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We ask that You would not only heal his body but also draw his heart closer to You. May this trial be a testimony of Your grace and power, bringing glory to Your name.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
