We come before the throne of grace with this heartfelt request, lifting up this family to our Heavenly Father. It is clear that there are concerns about a son’s focus at school and a husband’s responsibilities at work and home. We recognize the weight of these burdens and the desire for godliness in every area of life.
First, we rebuke any spirit of laziness, procrastination, or distraction that may be hindering this young man from fulfilling his duties at school. The Word of God tells us, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men"* (Colossians 3:23). We pray that he would be filled with diligence and wisdom, that his mind would be sharp, and that he would honor God in his studies. Father, awaken his spirit to the importance of discipline and responsibility, for *"the soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied"* (Proverbs 13:4).
For the husband, we ask that You would stir in his heart a renewed sense of commitment to his word and his duties. It is written, *"It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it"* (Ecclesiastes 5:5). Lord, we pray that he would follow through on the errands he has promised and take the necessary steps to correct his tax withholdings. Give him wisdom in his work, that he may provide for his family as You have called him to do. *"But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever"* (1 Timothy 5:8).
We also take a moment to address the importance of financial stewardship. The Bible warns us, *"The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender"* (Proverbs 22:7). If this situation with taxes is leading to financial strain, we pray for godly counsel and discipline in managing resources. Help this family to trust in You as their Provider, for *"my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:19).
Above all, we pray that this family would seek You first in all things. Jesus said, *"But seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you"* (Matthew 6:33). May their home be built on the foundation of Your Word, with each member walking in obedience and faith.
Heavenly Father, we lift up this family to You, asking that You would draw them closer to You. Give them hearts that desire to honor You in every area of life—school, work, and home. Strengthen their faith, correct where needed, and fill them with Your peace. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Amen.
