We come before the Lord with a heavy heart for this mother and her son, lifting them up in prayer and seeking God’s wisdom and mercy. First, we want to acknowledge the love and concern this mother has for her child—it is clear she desires what is best for him, and we join her in asking the Lord to intervene in this situation.
Father, we ask that You move in the heart of this young man, stirring in him a sense of responsibility and diligence. The Scriptures tell us in Proverbs 24:30-34, *"I went by the field of the sluggard, by the vineyard of the man void of understanding; and behold, it was all grown over with thorns. Its surface was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down. Then I saw, and considered well. I saw, and received instruction: a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep; so your poverty will come like a robber, and your want like an armed man."* Lord, we pray that this young man would understand the importance of finishing well, not just for the sake of his grades, but for the discipline and character it builds in him. Help him to see that his actions now have consequences, and that laziness and procrastination will only bring struggle later.
We also lift up his IEP and ask that You grant him the accommodations he needs without penalty. Lord, You are a God of justice and mercy, and we ask that his teachers would extend grace to him as he finishes these final months of school. We know that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28), and we trust that You will make a way for him to complete his work in a way that honors You.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of complacency and "senioritis" that has taken hold of him. We declare that he is capable of more, and we ask that You break any stronghold of laziness or distraction in his life. Let him rise up with a renewed sense of purpose, knowing that his work is not just for school, but for Your glory. Colossians 3:23 reminds us, *"And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men."* May this truth take root in his heart.
We also pray for this mother, that You would give her wisdom in how to guide and encourage her son. Let her words be seasoned with grace, yet firm in truth, so that he understands the importance of finishing strong. Give her patience and strength as she supports him through this season.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would help this young man to pass his classes and finish his schooling with integrity. May this be a lesson in perseverance and responsibility that he carries with him into adulthood. We trust in Your mercy and grace to see him through, and we give You all the glory.

Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
