Your prayer for your son has been heard among us and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to lay His healing hand upon him.
We know the weight of anxiety that comes when a loved one suffers, especially a child. That very anxiety, as you watch his breathing and fear for his body, can itself unfit the soul to bear the trial, and so we would point you to the sure ground of comfort. He who spared not His only begotten Son but delivered Him up for us, will He not with Him also freely give us all things necessary for our well being. You may rest that what He sees to be needful He will not withhold, for His love has already been proved at the cross.
We are reminded that our Lord Jesus is full of healing virtue. Scripture tells us the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, but even His leaves bring health to the soul and to the body. He is the Sun of Righteousness risen with healing in His wings, and when He walked among men He took our sicknesses and infirmities upon Himself. That is the one great cure, and the bitter cup was drained by Him that we might find pardon and healing in one. We pray that this healing power would be manifest in your son, that every harmful trace and side effect of his medication would be removed, that his lungs would be strengthened and his breath made easy, and that his spirit would be calmed.
We ask also that the Lord would quiet his anxiety and your own, for faith comes by hearing the Word of His grace, and Christ links His healing with His teaching. May your son feel the touch of that hand which lifted Peter's wife's mother from her fever, for there is healing in the very contact with Christ, and that same hand is able to lift him up now.
We pray that the Father would guide the medical team with divine wisdom and discernment, directing every decision and treatment according to His good providence, and that He would use their skill as instruments of His mercy.
Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your blessings and for hearing prayer through Jesus Christ Your Son. We bring this dear son before You and ask that You would surround him with Your healing presence. Touch his body, we pray, cleanse away every harmful effect, strengthen his lungs, calm his anxious heart and ease his breathing. Grant wisdom to those who care for him, and let Your peace rest upon him and upon his family. We ask this not for our worthiness but for the sake of Jesus, who bore our sins and our sorrows, and in whose name we trust for pardon and for healing. Amen.
