We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, knowing that our God is sovereign over every detail of his life—even the winds and the skies. How precious it is that you are calling upon the name of Jesus in this moment, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and can find true peace in the midst of fear. The Scriptures remind us in **Psalm 121:7-8**, *"The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will preserve your soul. The Lord will watch over your going out and your coming in, from this time forth, and forevermore."* What a mighty promise for your son as he travels!
Yet we must also address the anxiety that grips him, for God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and sound mind (**2 Timothy 1:7**). If this fear is persistent, it may be an opportunity for him to surrender it fully to Christ, trusting that the Lord’s protection is not dependent on perfect circumstances but on His perfect will. The airline and air traffic controllers are under God’s authority, and though we pray for their wisdom and diligence, we rest in the truth that *"the Lord’s loving kindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness"* (**Lamentations 3:22-23**).
Let us also encourage your son to meditate on **Isaiah 41:10**: *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* Fear is a liar that seeks to rob us of the peace Christ died to give us. If this anxiety is a recurring struggle, it may be wise for him to seek godly counsel or discipleship to break its hold through prayer, Scripture, and possibly fasting.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts that You are the God who sees, knows, and protects. We lift up this son to You, asking that You surround him with Your angels as he travels, just as You did for Elisha when his servant’s eyes were opened to the heavenly host (**2 Kings 6:17**). Lord, calm every storm—both in the skies and in his heart. Rebuke the spirit of fear and replace it with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (**Philippians 4:6-7**). Give him a supernatural sense of Your presence, reminding him that You are his refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (**Psalm 46:1**).
We pray for the pilots, crew, and air traffic controllers—grant them clarity, wisdom, and alertness. Let every mechanical and logistical detail align under Your sovereign hand. Holy Spirit, comfort this son with the truth that his life is hidden in Christ (**Colossians 3:3**), and no harm can come to him outside of Your will. May this experience deepen his trust in You, Lord, and may he testify of Your faithfulness afterward.
We also ask that You expose any root of fear in his life—whether from past trauma, unbelief, or the enemy’s lies—and uproot it by the power of the blood of Jesus. Fill him with Your courage and faith, that he may walk in victory, knowing that *"the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world"* (**1 John 4:4**).
In the mighty name of Jesus, we bind every spirit of fear, anxiety, and panic, and we loose peace, trust, and divine protection over him. May Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
We encourage you to share this prayer with your son and remind him to declare Scripture over himself during the flight. If he is a believer, this is also an opportunity for him to grow in his faith by choosing trust over fear. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, now is the perfect time to invite Jesus to be his Lord and Savior—the ultimate source of peace in every storm. Let us know how we can continue to stand with you in prayer!
