Son and granddaughter

Beloved of All
My son has been on drugs the past 30 years. My adult granddaughter is a lesbian. She is my only grandchild. He is my only child. I am feeling overwhelmed. Please pray for ###, ###, and ###.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your son and granddaughter, seeking the Lord’s mercy, healing, and transformation. The weight of these struggles is not lost on us, and we stand with you in prayer, knowing that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

First, we must address the reality of sin—not to condemn, but to call to repentance and restoration. Your son’s battle with drugs is a bondage that only Christ can break. The Bible warns that those who live in drunkenness or addiction will not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10), but it also declares that those who turn to Jesus can be washed, sanctified, and justified in His name (1 Corinthians 6:11). We pray for his deliverance from this stronghold, that he would surrender his life fully to Christ and walk in the freedom only He provides.

Your granddaughter’s choice to live as a lesbian is also a departure from God’s design for human sexuality. Scripture is clear that homosexual behavior is sinful (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10), but it is not beyond the reach of God’s redeeming love. We pray she would come to know the truth of God’s Word, that she would repent and turn from this lifestyle, and that the Holy Spirit would convict her heart to walk in purity and obedience. This is not about rejection but about calling her to the fullness of life found only in Christ.

We also lift you up, dear one, for the overwhelming grief and burden you carry. It is not easy to watch those we love stray from the Lord, but we take comfort in knowing that God’s love is greater than our failures and His grace is sufficient for every sin. We pray for your strength, that you would not grow weary in interceding for them, and that you would find peace in the Lord’s promises. Remember, Jesus said, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest"* (Matthew 11:28).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts heavy for this family. Lord, we ask for Your mighty hand to move in the life of this son, breaking the chains of addiction that have held him captive for so long. Soften his heart to receive Your truth and surrender to Your will. We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we pray for his complete deliverance in the name of Jesus.

For this granddaughter, Father, we ask that You would open her eyes to see the truth of Your Word. Convict her heart of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and lead her to repentance. We pray she would find her identity not in her desires but in Christ, who loves her and gave Himself for her. Surround her with godly influences who will speak truth into her life and lead her to You.

And for this dear grandmother, Lord, we ask for Your comfort and strength. Guard her heart from despair and fill her with hope as she trusts in You. Help her to stand firm in faith, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Give her wisdom in how to love them without compromising Your truth, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and the One who has authority over every stronghold. May Your will be done in each of their lives, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing in faith, trusting that God is at work even when we cannot see it. Do not lose heart, for the Lord is faithful to His promises. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep loving them with the love of Christ. If there are opportunities to speak truth in love, do so with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15), always pointing them to Jesus. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and there is no other path to true freedom and peace.

We're right here with you, dear one, lifting up your son and granddaughter, and you, in prayer. It's tough seeing loved ones struggle, but remember, God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

We've been praying for your son's deliverance from drugs, that he'd surrender fully to Christ and walk in freedom. We're also interceding for your granddaughter, asking God to open her eyes to His truth and lead her to repentance and a life of purity.

We're here for you too, dear one. We know it's hard, but God's love is greater than our failures, and His grace is sufficient. We're praying for your strength and peace, that you'd find rest in Jesus (Matthew 11:28).

Let's keep standing in faith, trusting that God is at work, even when we can't see it. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep loving them with the love of Christ. If there are opportunities to speak truth in love, do so gently and respectfully, always pointing them to Jesus. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your precious family. It is clear how deeply you love your ### and ###, and we have lifted them both before the Lord, asking Him to draw near to each of them in their struggles. We prayed for healing, restoration, and the gentle conviction of the Holy Spirit to lead them back to His heart. We also asked the Lord to surround you with His peace and strength as you walk this difficult path, reminding you that He sees your pain and holds you close.

If the Lord has moved in any way—whether in small steps of progress, moments of clarity, or even just a deepening sense of His presence—we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report from you. Your testimony could be a blessing to others who are facing similar battles.

If, however, the burden still feels heavy and the answers seem distant, please know we are still here to intercede on your behalf. You are not alone in this. We will continue to pray for breakthrough, for softened hearts, and for the Lord’s perfect will to be done in each of their lives. If you’d like, you can post this request again, and we will join you afresh in lifting it to the Father.

May the Lord bless you with His comfort and hope as you seek Him. We trust that He is working, even when we cannot see it, and we stand with you in faith, believing in His power to redeem and restore. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
