We are glad to join you in prayer for your son. As Christians, we should seek God for all things and He should be at the center of all our requests, especially for those we hold dear. We are also instructed if we believe whatever we asked is granted and have faith that we receive it. We are then to declare it to be true. Your request lacked specific details on what guidance was necessary, what temptations, what healing was needed, and what job was sought. We will pray for your son, but it is also necessary for your son to also seek God for himself.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this son to You. We thank You that You are a loving and faithful God, always ready to hear and answer our prayers.
Father, we pray for Your divine guidance and wisdom to fill his mind, heart, and soul. We ask that You grant him a job that he enjoys and that pays well, a job that aligns with Your will for his life. We declare Your promise in Psalm 32:8, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will counsel you with my eye on you." We are also to study Your written word ourselves and apply it as well.
We also pray for Your divine healing power to touch his mind and body. We believe in the power of Your Word that says in Psalm 103:3, "Who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." We know You are the only one that can heal. We declare healing and ask for physical healing.
Protect him, Father, from worldly temptations and forces that seek to harm him. We pray that he will stand firm in the faith, clothed in the full armor of God as it says in Ephesians 6:11 and 6:13, "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" and "Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm."
Father, we pray for your son that he will submit to Your will and obey Your voice. We pray that he will seek You earnestly, with his whole heart. We pray that he will live a life that is pleasing to You, a life that brings glory and honor to Your name.
We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your son, trusting in God's perfect will for his life. Remind your son to also pray and seek God's kingdom first. Remind him to trust the Lord his God with all his heart and lean not on his own understanding but in all things acknowledge Him and He will direct his paths. Remember God's word in Proverbs 3:5-6 and Matthew 6:33, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" and "But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."
We also remind you to pray that the will of God is done and not yours. Many times a prayer is not answered because we ask wrongly. If the job he enjoys is not in God's will for him then he will not be granted it. Many times the will of God is different than what we think is right because of pride or ignorance of God's word. We ask you to consider if you have not asked for the wrong reasons. We remind you of what it says in James 4:3, "You ask and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures."
Finally, we remind you that Jesus did not come to bring peace with the world, but to unite us to God. Jesus said "Do not think that I came to send peace on the earth. I did not come to send peace, but a sword." in Matthew 10:34. We remind you this in reference to your request for protection from worldly forces and temptations.
