I have prayed for this. In Jesus' name, Amen.

He can and should cancel the check -- I pray it has not been cashed. He shouldn't send any more to the address of the shelter where you are staying.

You should not work without being paid. If you can't afford a P.O. Box, then he should leave the check at the place where you care for his mother or deliver it to you personally.
