[Articles]

We have heard your request and we stand with you together in the name of Jesus Christ against every work of darkness and we bring your health before the throne of grace.

We understand your fear after receiving and wearing the cap and then feeling sick and coughing that evening. We want to remind you that for those who are in Christ, no spell, no curse, and no weapon formed by witches or wizards has ultimate power over you, for greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 and no weapon that is formed against you will prevail. Isaiah 54:17. The Scriptures tell us that there shall not be found with you anyone who uses divination or a sorcerer or one who casts spells, for whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh. Deuteronomy 18:10-12, yet we do not need to live in fear of those things because God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7.

We also gently encourage you not to give too much power in your mind to objects themselves. While it is wise and good to pray over gifts and to dedicate all things to the Lord before we use them, our protection does not come from the object being clean or unclean but from our position in Christ. If this cap continues to cause you fear or distress in your conscience, we encourage you to remove it, pray over it, and if needed discard it or destroy it so that you are not tormented, just as we are taught to submit ourselves therefore to God and resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7. We put on the whole armor of God that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood but against the principalities and powers of darkness. Ephesians 6:11-12.

We also encourage you to care for your body as well as your spirit. A sudden cough and sickness can have natural causes, and we encourage you to seek medical care if the symptoms continue, while we trust the Lord as our healer who heals your diseases. Psalm 103:3 and by his wounds you have been healed. Isaiah 53:5.

We now pray together for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we plead the blood of Jesus over our dear one who is seeking Your help. We thank You that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. Revelation 12:11. Lord, we ask that You rebuke every work of darkness, every spell, every curse, and every assignment of witchcraft and wizardry spoken against this life. Let it be rendered powerless and nullified by the cross of Christ, for You have disarmed principalities and powers. We ask You to place Your hedge of protection around this child of Yours, for he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1. We speak Your peace over any fear and anxiety, and we command fear to leave in Jesus name.

Lord, we lift up this sickness and coughing before You. Touch this body with Your healing hand, restore health, clear the lungs and throat, and strengthen the immune system. We pray that You will heal and restore, for You have said I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds. Jeremiah 30:17. Let Your perfect love cast out all fear. 1 John 4:18. Help our dear one to walk in faith and not in fear, to keep eyes fixed on Jesus, who has given us authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing will in any way hurt us. Luke 10:19. If there is any object that is a stumbling block, give wisdom whether to keep it with prayer and thanksgiving or to remove it completely, so that there is freedom in Christ.

We thank You, Father, that You are our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust. Psalm 91:2. We declare that the Lord will keep you from all evil, He will keep your soul. Psalm 121:7. We trust that You hear us when we pray in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. Continue to abide in Christ, pray without ceasing, read the Word daily, and walk in obedience so the enemy has no foothold.

We pray all these things in the powerful and matchless name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We are so glad you reached out, and we are sorry you are feeling sick and unsettled tonight. It makes sense you would feel anxious after wearing something that now worries you, especially when you started coughing later that evening.

We join you in asking Jesus to cover you and keep you safe. You have already done the most important thing in turning to Him and pleading His blood over your life for protection, and we want to stand with you in trusting that He is stronger than any darkness and He holds you securely.

A couple of simple next steps that may help you feel more at peace: you do not need to keep wearing or keeping a cap that troubles you, you can set it aside. If it would help, share what happened with a trusted pastor or mature believer near you who can pray with you in person and walk with you going forward. And since you are coughing and feeling ill this evening, please also have a doctor or clinic take a look soon, alongside prayer, just to make sure you get the care you need.

We pray for you now. Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. Bring calm to their heart, ease their cough and sickness, and guard them in Your perfect protection. Help them rest in Your presence tonight and give wisdom for next steps. Amen.

[Zedekiah]

[Spurgeon]

Your request has been heard and we have carried it before the Lord with care. We understand the fear that has come upon you since wearing the cap, and the sickness and coughing that followed, and your desire to be covered and protected from every work of darkness.

Be assured that the power of our Lord Jesus Christ is far above every pretended power of witches and wizards. From the time when Satan fell, God's purpose has been to break down everything which sets itself up in opposition to Him. He casts down the mighty from their seats and lifts up the poor, and no spell or curse can stand against His right hand. If any work of darkness has been intended against you, the Lord who is sovereign over all can rebuke it with a word, for there is no attribute more comforting than His divine sovereignty, and He has a right to do with His people as He wills, and what He wills is for their good.

Do not let your heart be given over to fear of an object. The least thing that has to do with Christ has healing virtue in it, as the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. There is not a word that ever fell from His lips but bears healing for some ill of our humanity, and the costly balm of His atonement has lost none of its power. He is the great Physician who healeth the broken in heart and healeth all that have need of healing. It is His will and His touch that cleanses and cures, and when He says, I will, be thou clean, the defilement departs. Pleading the blood of Jesus is not a charm of words, but a humble trusting in His finished sacrifice upon the cross, by which all the penal consequences of sin are gone and by which we are preserved from evil. Remember that promise, The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil, He shall preserve thy soul.

We join you in prayer that God would grant you this healing and this keeping.

O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this thy servant who is troubled in body and in mind. Forgive all sin and let pardon bring healing, for Thou healest all our diseases. Lay Thy hand upon this sickness and cough, and restore health according to Thy gracious will. Let no weapon formed against thy child prosper, and rebuke every work of darkness, every spell and wicked device, that it may come to nothing. Cover this life with the blood of Christ shed for sinners, and let Thy Spirit work all things for good. Keep this dear one from fear and from the pestilence that walks in darkness, and draw near in providential interposition to deliver from many waters. Give peace, give soundness of body, and give steadfast faith in Jesus Christ alone, through whom alone is salvation. In His name we ask it. Amen.

We encourage you to continue in prayer and in the Word, where healing power is present when Christ is teaching, and to walk in simple faith rather than in dread of objects. If your conscience remains troubled by the cap, you are free to put it away from you and think no more of it, for our safety is not in an object but in the living Christ. We also encourage you, as we speedily care for bodily diseases, to seek care from a physician for your cough and sickness, asking the Lord to bless all lawful means for your recovery.

Cast your whole care upon Him, for He careth for you, and He will keep you until He shall present you faultless before His presence.
