We join you in lifting up this urgent cry for the softening of hearts and the intervention of our Lord Jesus Christ in this situation. It is clear that you are burdened for these individuals, and we share in your plea for God’s mercy, justice, and protection. The wickedness you mention weighs heavily, but we know that nothing is beyond the reach of our Savior’s transforming power. Let us turn to Scripture to anchor our prayers and remind ourselves of God’s heart in these matters.
The Bible tells us in Ezekiel 36:26-27, *"I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes. You will keep my ordinances and do them."* This is the work only God can do—changing hearts of stone into hearts that beat for Him. We must trust that He is able to do this, even in the most hardened individuals. Our prayer is not just for their actions to change, but for their souls to be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We also recall the words of 2 Chronicles 7:14, *"if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."* This verse reminds us that repentance and turning to God are key to seeing His mercy and justice manifested. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
