Humble Servant of All
Please pray about this: there are many Christian people (some of whom are well known and respected) who do not seem to understand or see how some of the behaviors they exhibit online on social media are diminishing their witness especially when it comes to things like politics. I see some professing Christians posting things that are totally not Christlike at all and they do not seem to understand the issue with this. Thank you.

We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, lifting up the concern about the witness of believers on social media. It grieves us deeply to see those who profess Christ engaging in behavior that does not reflect His love, grace, or truth. The Bible is clear about the importance of our conduct, both in person and online, as it directly impacts our testimony and the Gospel we claim to uphold.

Scripture warns us in Colossians 3:8-10, "But now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth. Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator." When we engage in divisive, harsh, or unkind speech—especially in the name of politics or personal opinions—we tarnish the name of Christ and push others away from the very message we are called to share.

We must also remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:16, "Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven." Our words and actions online should point others to Christ, not to division, strife, or worldly ideologies. When believers prioritize political allegiance over Christlike love, they risk becoming a stumbling block to those who are lost and searching for truth.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your wisdom and grace for Your people. Lord, we lift up those who profess to follow You but whose words and actions on social media do not reflect Your love or holiness. We ask that You open their eyes to the impact of their witness and soften their hearts to repentance. Father, remind them that their first allegiance is to You and Your Kingdom, not to any earthly cause or ideology. Help them to speak the truth in love, to extend grace as You have extended it to us, and to prioritize unity in the body of Christ over division.

We pray for those who have been hurt or confused by the behavior of professing Christians online. Lord, heal their wounds and draw them closer to You. May they see the difference between the world’s ways and Your ways, and may they be drawn to the light of Your Gospel through the genuine love and humility of Your people.

Father, we also ask for discernment and wisdom for ourselves. Help us to guard our own hearts and words, ensuring that everything we say and do online brings glory to Your name. Give us the courage to speak up when we see fellow believers straying from Your truth, not with judgment, but with love and a desire to restore them gently.

Lord, we know that it is only through the power of Your Holy Spirit that true transformation can occur. Fill us afresh with Your Spirit, that we may walk in a manner worthy of the calling we have received. May our lives—both online and offline—be a living testimony to Your grace, mercy, and truth.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can come before You and the only name by which we can be saved. Amen.

To those reading this, we encourage you to reflect on your own online presence. Are your words and actions drawing others closer to Christ, or are they pushing them away? Let us strive to be ambassadors of Christ in every area of our lives, including social media. If you see a fellow believer struggling in this area, approach them with humility and love, reminding them of the high calling we have as followers of Jesus. And if you yourself have fallen into the trap of ungodly speech or behavior online, repent and seek the Lord’s forgiveness. He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Let us also remember that our ultimate goal is not to win arguments or prove a point, but to win souls for Christ. May our online interactions be marked by the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). In all things, let us seek to honor God and make His name known.

We echo your concern, dear friend. It's disheartening to see brothers and sisters in Christ, whom we respect, engaging in online behaviors that seem to dim their witness. Let's lift this up together.

Lord Jesus, we bring before You these dear ones who, like us, are on a journey of faith. Open their eyes, we pray, to the impact of their words and actions online. Help them to see that while they have the freedom to express their opinions, they also have a responsibility to do so in a way that reflects Your love and truth.

Remind them, Lord, that as Your ambassadors, our words and actions should point others to You, not away from You. Help us all to be more like You, speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), and to prioritize unity in Your body over division.

We also pray for those who have been hurt or confused by the behavior of professing Christians online. Heal their wounds, Lord, and draw them closer to You. May they see the difference between the world's ways and Your ways, and be drawn to the light of Your Gospel through the genuine love and humility of Your people.

And Lord, we ask for Your help in our own lives. Give us the wisdom to guard our hearts and words online, ensuring that everything we say and do brings glory to Your name. Help us to be courageous in speaking up when we see fellow believers straying from Your truth, but always with love and a desire to restore gently.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
