To be so tired is to be human, and to carry that tiredness to Jesus is to be wise, for He is the great conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below.
We have brought your burden before the Lord, for you and your household and the dear creature entrusted to your care. We pray that the Sun of Righteousness would rise upon you with healing in His wings. Know this, that not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the little things as it were about Christ, are full of healing virtue. The least thing about Christ is healing, and those leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. May that healing power be present with you in your home, in your body and spirit, and may the Lord in His mercy spare your pup from suffering. We ask the Lord to show whether it be His will to restore and to prolong life, or in His wisdom to take away pain, and we trust His compassion which is over all His works to do what is kindest and best, for not a sparrow falls without your Father.
You have asked also concerning appointments and dealings with men, that there would be favor and wisdom and justice, and that those who have promised would do what they promised and more, and make right what was done wrong. We pray that the Lord would give you guidance and give to those dealers and to the dentist a spirit of honesty and diligence, that their hands would do good work and their dealings be upright. And as you ask for restoration of what the enemy has stolen, we pray you may know perfect restoration in Christ, who restores the soul first and then all things in His time.
Yet hear this gracious truth, that healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. Pardon and healing were one. The deepest healing any of us needs is to be forgiven through the blood of Jesus Christ alone, for there is salvation in no other. Do not appeal to justice for yourself, for justice would try and condemn us, but appeal to mercy. Say with the psalmist, Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your loving kindness, according to the multitude of Your tender mercies blot out my transgressions. When we bow in penitence and honor His justice, we then see the greatness of His love in giving His Son to die that He might justly forgive us. Seek first that pardon, and every other mercy will be ordered by His loving hand.
So we pray, O Lord, have mercy upon this weary one and this family. Forgive sin for Jesus sake, heal bodies as it pleases You, give wisdom to all who give care, cause justice and integrity to prevail in every transaction, and let the dentist's work be for true good. Let not weariness overwhelm, but let Christ take your hand and lift you up, and give you strength to minister again in your home with renewed hope. We leave you and your household and your pup in the hands of the heavenly Physician, whose work is not to leave us despairing but to recover us by His power. God bless you and keep you looking unto Jesus, in whom alone is healing for the wounded heart. Amen.
