Your prayer reflects a heart that wants to see God glorified as people are made righteous through Jesus Christ and made new by the Holy Spirit, and that is exactly the kind of desire God Himself places in His people so that we can pray it back to Him and see Him answer.
Prayer begins with relationship. When you can truly say Father through faith in Christ, you have the ground for effective prayer. The one prayer God seeks from those outside that relationship is for mercy as a sinner, and once that relationship is established, prayer becomes this wonderful opportunity to see His will done on earth as it is in heaven. The purpose of prayer is not to get our own wishes fulfilled but to consent to what God already wants to do and to open the door for Him to do it without violating the choice He has given us.
That is why persistence matters. Continuing in prayer is not about changing God's mind but about coming into harmony with His purposes. When our hearts align with what He desires, we see answers come. The Scriptures remind us not to despise the day of small beginnings, and that the eyes of the Lord move throughout the earth to show Himself strong for those whose hearts are fully committed to Him. A small gathering that is faithful in prayer and in going out with the gospel is not small in His sight if it is in step with His will.
The Lord has also shown that strength for this work does not come by might or by power but by His Spirit. You are right to ask for the Spirit of grace and supplication to be poured out, for a burden for souls, and for labor that continues until Christ is formed in people. Fervent, heartfelt prayer from a righteous life avails much, not because of length or eloquence, for the prayers recorded in Scripture are often very short, but because they are offered in faith, in worship and dependence, through Jesus to the Father.
Prayer is also never meant to be an excuse to do nothing. It is the first resort, not the last, and it properly comes before wise and faithful action. You pray and then you keep watch, you pray and then you go. That combination of prayer and faithful obedience is what keeps excuses from taking over, whether it is weather, sickness, or the many reasons Jesus described when people put land, possessions, or other loyalties ahead of His invitation. The love of Christ that has already made us new is what compels us not to live for ourselves but for Him, and to urge others to come to His feast.
I join you in asking the Father, in Jesus name, to strengthen your prayer gatherings and your outreaches by His Spirit, to draw those He is calling, to give you steadiness week by week and greater effectiveness as you share the Word, to grant true conversions that show the fruit of repentance, and to guard the team from the schemes of the enemy. May the Word of the Lord prevail in your area as you continue laboring fervently, giving thanks, and trusting Him to do what only He can do.
