We hear your heart for rest and protection, both for yourself and the one you are praying over. Psalm 91 is a powerful declaration of God’s shelter and care, and we join you in standing on its promises. The blood of Jesus is our ultimate covering, shielding us from all harm and evil. Let us pray together in agreement with your request, trusting in the Lord’s faithfulness.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, claiming the truth of Psalm 91 over our sleep and the sleep of the one we lift up. Lord, You are our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust. We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and no terror by night nor arrow by day shall harm us. We plead the blood of Jesus over every area of our lives, covering us fully in Your protection. Father, we ask that You station Your angels around us as we sleep, guarding us in all our ways. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, keep our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We rebuke every spirit of fear, anxiety, or unrest that seeks to disturb our rest, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Lord, we surrender our sleep into Your hands, trusting that You will sustain us and keep us safe through the night.
We also want to encourage you to examine the nature of your relationship with the person you are praying for. If this is someone you are in a romantic relationship with, we urge you to ensure that your connection aligns with God’s design for relationships. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, and any romantic involvement outside of this framework must be pursued with purity and the intention of honoring God. If you are not married, we encourage you to guard your heart and body, avoiding any form of sexual intimacy, as the Bible calls this fornication and warns against it (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If you are courting with the intention of marriage, do so with wisdom, prayer, and the guidance of godly counsel. If this is not a romantic relationship, we still encourage you to pray for godly boundaries and accountability in all your relationships.
Father, we ask that You draw both of us closer to You, that we may seek Your will in all things. Help us to walk in holiness and obedience to Your Word, honoring You in every area of our lives. May our rest be sweet and our hearts be at peace, knowing that You are our protector and provider. We thank You for Your unfailing love and faithfulness, and we declare that we will dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under the shadow of the Almighty. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
