We hear your cry for rest and we join with you in seeking the Lord for healing and peaceful sleep, especially as you desire to rise early for church and travel tomorrow. We understand how distressing it is when sleep that once came easily now escapes you, and we want to lift you up together before our Father.

We are encouraged that you ended your request in the holy name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone we have access to God and find rest for our souls. As it is written, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28.

The Lord knows your need for sleep and He desires to give it to you as a gift. Scripture reminds us For he gives sleep to his beloved Psalm 127:2 and also I will both lay me down and sleep in peace, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety Psalm 4:8. Often sleeplessness comes from an anxious heart or a mind that will not be still, worrying about the next day, your journey, and responsibilities. God invites us to release those burdens to Him, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7 and In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. That peace is what guards our minds at night.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up Your child to You. You see the weariness and the frustration of these two nights without sleep. We ask that You quiet every anxious thought and calm the heart that is trying so hard to rest. Forgive us when we try to hold tomorrow in our own hands instead of trusting it to You. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon body and mind, that You would regulate sleep and restore what has been disturbed. Let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard this heart and mind tonight. We pray that when lying down, there will be no fear, yea, that sleep will be sweet as You have promised in Proverbs 3:24. Grant deep, uninterrupted, restorative sleep tonight, and awaken Your child refreshed, strengthened, and joyful to worship You in church and to travel safely under Your hand. We rebuke any spirit of unrest or anxiety that would steal rest, and we speak Your perfect love which casts out fear over this night. We thank You that You neither slumber nor sleep as You watch over us. We trust this need into Your loving care in Jesus name, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to cast your cares on Him before you lie down, perhaps by quietly meditating on His promises rather than striving to force sleep. It may help to turn away from screens and noise, to breathe slowly, and to whisper scripture or a hymn in your heart as you wait on the Lord. Trust that even if sleep feels delayed, the Lord is with you in the quiet and He will provide what you need for tomorrow. We will continue to pray that the Lord grants you sweet sleep tonight and renews your strength for worship and for your travels.

We hear how wearying these last two nights have been, especially when you want to be rested for church and for traveling tomorrow. You went to bed early, you prayed, you are trying to do what you can, and sleep still won't come. That can feel confusing and discouraging when you are used to sleeping well.

Sometimes the very pressure to fall asleep, plus looking forward to an early morning and a trip, can keep the mind more alert than we want it to be. It does not mean anything is wrong with you or with your prayer. It is often just a hard night or two, and it passes.

Tonight as you lie down, try not to watch the clock or work hard to force sleep. If you are awake, you can rest quietly and entrust the morning to the Lord who sees your desire to worship and to travel safely. He is with you whether you sleep deeply or lightly.

If this trouble sleeping continues beyond these nights, we encourage you to check in with your own doctor or clinic for guidance, alongside prayer.

Father, we lift our friend to You tonight. You know the longing for rest and the early start ahead. We ask for Your peace to settle over mind and body, for quiet rest, and for grace for tomorrow whether sleep comes easily or not. Keep our friend safe in travel and help the time at church be refreshing. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your request has been heard and we join you in prayer that the Lord who is the giver of all rest would grant you sleep this night.

Sleep is the gift of God. We think that we lay our heads upon our pillows and therefore we necessarily sleep, but it is not so. Not a man would close his eyes did not God put his fingers on his eyelids and send a soft and balmy influence over his frame to lull his thoughts into quiescence. So it is written, so he giveth his beloved sleep. This sleep is not earned by our striving but received from his hand, and we pray that he will graciously bestow it upon you now.

Do not be anxious concerning tomorrow, for the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. You have need to rise early for the worship of his house and to travel on the morrow, and these cares now press upon you and keep you wakeful. The Lord Jesus says, Come unto me and I will give you rest. It is a present rest, rest now, not only after death, and it is perfect rest when we come to him and learn of him. Trust and you shall rest. Cast your care upon Christ, who watches over you while you wake and while you sleep, and leave your troubles with him.

We pray that you may find that rest of the learner who lies down gently at the cross, with a mind like the mind of Christ, contented and at peace with God. May the Lord quiet your thoughts, still your heart, and grant you deep and refreshing sleep, that you may wake restored and ready to serve him in his house and in your journey. May he keep you through the night and bring you in safety to another day to worship and to walk in his strength.

We commend you to him now, asking in Jesus holy name that he would give you sleep according to his loving kindness, and that you would awake to find his mercies new every morning. Amen.

Your request for sleep has been heard and I am joining you in prayer to our Lord Jesus Christ for His mercy and help tonight.

You have done well to bring this need to God in your night prayer. Sleep is one of His kind gifts to our worn nature. Night comes as a haven from our troubles and as medicine for our wounds. God in His care has made sleep a necessity of nature, not left to our own will, so that we receive rest even when our thoughts would not allow it. When we cannot sleep, it is often because anxieties and cares press upon the soul and drive rest away. The Lord knows this burden.

Hear His own invitation, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy burdened, and I will give you rest. He does not call you to account but to lay your sins and cares upon Him and to place you in security. There remains a true rest for the people of God, and He calls us to enter it with a trusting heart, not hardening our hearts with worry. The cares of this world can choke out peace, but Christ promises a deeper rest for the soul which then quiets the body also.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I lift up this dear one to You. You know the weariness of these two nights without sleep and the need to rise early for worship and for travel tomorrow. Forgive all sins and wash us in the blood of Christ, for salvation is in Him alone. Calm every anxious thought, quiet the heart, and grant the gift of peaceful sleep tonight according to Your will. Lay Your hand upon body and mind, guard this night, and grant safety and strength for the journey and for worship tomorrow. Let this soul lie down in peace and wake refreshed to seek You first. In Jesus holy name, Amen.

Cast your cares upon Him once more as you lie down, turn from restless thoughts, keep your evening simple and quiet, and trust Him to do what is good for you even as you sleep. May the Lord grant you rest tonight and bring you with a clear and peaceful heart into His house tomorrow.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
