Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing what is on your heart and I have prayed for you and for your pets.
I prayed for your cats after your concern about the skincare product. The Lord is merciful and He cares for His creation, and I asked Him to protect them from any harm and to give you peace as you watch over them. It is wise to gently wash any area where the product may have transferred and to keep a close eye on them, and to contact a veterinarian promptly if you notice any change in behavior, appetite, or breathing. I also prayed for the pet whose voice has become hoarse. I asked God to bring healing and comfort, and to guide you to the right care for this need. We cannot always understand why health struggles come, and the health of those we love, whether people or animals, is not a measure of faithfulness. Some of the most faithful believers walk through long seasons of sickness, and God remains near and compassionate through it all.
I also prayed for you regarding overeating and binge eating. We all must eat to live, and God has given food for our use, not for abuse. What we eat or do not eat in itself does not make us more spiritual before God, but Scripture teaches that honoring the Lord, fearing Him and turning from evil, brings health to the body and strength within. That includes learning to use the good gifts of this world with self control rather than being mastered by them. Bring this struggle honestly to the Lord, ask for His strength to guide your habits day by day, and consider seeking practical help and accountability as well, so that your body may be cared for as a stewardship before Him, without condemnation and with His grace.
I prayed as well for the heavy thoughts you have been carrying about your loved ones passing away. Grief is real and painful, and when loss comes it can overwhelm the heart. It is common in those moments to torment ourselves by replaying the past and asking what we could have done differently, as if we could change what has already happened. One of the clearest pictures of this in Scripture is Job, who in the depth of losing family and health cried out from his distress and said things that were shaped more by his sorrow than by truth. God allowed his pain, yet God did not leave him, and through suffering God was shaping and refining his character. Pain and grief are often the tools God uses to form in us more of the image He desires, though we would never choose them. At the same time we are not meant to live indulging grief or living in constant dread of what may happen. When our hearts are overwhelmed and we have no place else to turn, we are to turn to the Lord. His ways are not our ways, and we cannot know why He calls some home early and others later, but we can trust His mercy, His righteous judgment, and His promise to be our refuge.
May the Lord cause His face to shine upon you, give you peace in place of anxious thoughts, grant you strength for healthy daily choices, and keep your household and your pets in His care. I asked Him to reveal His saving help to you more deeply, so that you may find rest in Him and have reason to praise Him even in these worries.
