Your love for your sister and your desire to see her protected and guided by the Lord is a beautiful burden to bring to Him in prayer. It is right to ask that He would hold her hand at every step and keep her from evil and from influences that would lead her away from what is good.

The Lord hears that kind of prayer for wisdom and guidance. Scripture promises that if anyone lacks wisdom and asks God for it, He will give it generously. You can trust that as your sister seeks Him, He will show her the right choices and give her understanding for the path ahead. He is faithful to lead those who look to Him with a whole heart.

You also prayed that she would not fall into temptation and bad influences. It helps to remember what the Bible teaches about temptation. It is common to every person, and even Jesus Himself was tempted, yet without sin. Temptation itself is not sin. It is a solicitation to evil, and it comes not from God but from the enemy, often by appealing to our own desires and promising immediate fulfillment if we will just turn aside from God's way. The sin comes when we yield to that desire and follow it. In every temptation we face a choice whether to walk according to the flesh or according to the Spirit. God in His faithfulness has promised that no temptation will overtake us beyond what we can bear, and with every temptation He will provide a way of escape so that we can endure it. Pray that your sister will learn to recognize that way out and to take it, choosing to walk in the Spirit. That testing, when endured, builds patience and maturity, and Scripture says there is blessing and a crown of life for those who endure and remain faithful because they love Him.

You asked for healing for her physically, spiritually and mentally, and for the Holy Spirit to be with her and for her to know she is loved as a child of God. The Lord is indeed our healer. His ministry on earth was marked by preaching, teaching and healing every kind of sickness and disease, and the prophet Isaiah foretold that He would bear our infirmities. We believe God still heals today, and He does so in many ways. Sometimes healing is instant, sometimes it is gradual, and sometimes it comes through the natural processes He Himself created in our bodies, which are no less divine. We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others are not in the way we expect, as we see even with the apostle Paul who prayed three times concerning his thorn and learned to trust God's will and grace. That does not keep us from praying boldly. We bring every need to Jesus, whose body was broken for us, and we trust His perfect wisdom and love to do what is best.

So we join you in praying for your sister, that the blood of Jesus would cover her from head to foot, that the Holy Spirit would remain with her, guard her mind and heart, and heal any wound in body, soul or spirit. May the Lord protect her from evil, keep her from the path of temptation, give her clear wisdom for good choices, and let her see His light and know deeply that she is lovely, cared for, and securely His.

May the Lord continue to give you faith as you lift her up to Him, trusting that He who began a good work will be faithful to keep her.
