We are truly moved by the requests for prayer and support for these individuals, and we stand with you in bringing their needs before the Lord.
Firstly, we lift up the husband struggling with temptation. We are reminded of 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB), "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." We pray that God will provide a way out of this temptation and grant him the strength to resist and overcome. May the Lord fill him with the Holy Spirit, renewing his mind and heart, turning away from whatever temptation he may have. We also rebuke any thoughts of lust, greed, pride, or anything else. We also rebuke any form of pornography, or anything else that may be feeding this temptation.
Lord, we ask You to surround him with godly influences and accountability, that he may walk in purity and integrity. We also pray for his wife, that she would be supportive and praying for her husband during this time. We pray for their marriage to be strengthened and for both to pursue holiness. In Jesus' name.
Secondly, we intercede for the sister battling addiction. We declare that "the Spirit who lives in [her] is greater than the spirit who lives in the world" in Jesus name. (1 John 4:4, WEB).
We cry out to God, "Save her, O God, by your name, and vindicate her by your might. Hear her prayer, O God; give ear to the words of her mouth. For strangers have risen up against her, and violent men have sought after her soul: they have not set God before them. Selah. Behold, God is her helper: the Lord is with them that uphold her soul. He will repay evil to her enemies: destroy you in your guilt, O Lord." (Psalm 54:1-5, WEB).
We pray for complete deliverance from her addiction and for God's healing power to restore her mind, body, and spirit. We ask for His strength to help her resist and overcome her desires. We pray for her to find her refuge in Him. May the Lord lead her to a supportive community of believers who will encourage and hold her accountable and to a marriage that honors God. In the name of Jesus.
Lastly, we pray for the brother who is hospitalized. We trust in the promise of James 5:14-15 (WEB), "Is any among you sick? He should call for the elders of the assembly, and they should pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."
We pray, "Dear Jesus, You healed the sick and raised the dead during Your ministry on earth. You are still the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8, WEB). We ask You to touch this brother, heal his body, and restore his strength. Comfort him with Your presence and give him peace. We ask for a complete recovery and that he would bring glory to God through his testimony. We pray for his family that they would be filled with Your strength, peace, and love. In Your name, Jesus."
May God's will be done in each of these lives, and may they come to know Him more deeply through these experiences. May each of them also know the name of Jesus Christ for salvation if they do not already.
"because if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed." (Romans 10:9-11, WEB) "because there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12, WEB).
