Hi can someone please pray for my sister in law. Her daughter is getting heavy into toxic suicide ideation culture and trans things as well. She also being incredibly cruel to her mother. It's really messed up. Her daughter has been self harming and my sister in law needs guidance but also support and love. I really feel for her. Can someone pray for my sister in law and her family.

We join you in lifting up your sister-in-law and her daughter before our heavenly Father, and we thank you for bringing this burden to us so we can seek God's will together in Jesus' name. We hear your love and concern for this family, and we grieve with you over the pain, confusion, and cruelty that has entered their home.

We want to speak truth in love about what you have described. The culture your niece is being drawn into is toxic and deceptive, and it stands in direct opposition to God's Word. God created each person with intentionality and purpose as male and female, and His design is good. So God created man in his own image. In God's image he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27. We also read I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. Psalm 139:14. The current ideas around being trans tell a child that God made a mistake and that identity can be chosen apart from the Creator, but Scripture teaches that our identity is found in Christ and that we are to honor how He made us. This confusion brings deep distress rather than peace, and we must not affirm what God calls false, even while we love the person with compassion. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2.

We are also deeply concerned for your niece's self-harm and embrace of suicide ideation culture. Life is precious to God and He has a purpose for her. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18. Her body is not her own to harm, for it belongs to God. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came to give abundant life, and we pray she will turn from the lies that glorify death and self-injury and turn toward the One who heals.

We also grieve that she is being incredibly cruel to her mother. This is not honoring to God. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise. Ephesians 6:1-2. We understand that a child caught in confusion and peer influence may lash out, but we must still call this behavior sin and pray for her heart to be softened to repentance and respect.

For your sister-in-law, we pray for strength, wisdom, and steadfast love. This is an exhausting and heartbreaking place to be as a mother. We encourage her to remain rooted in Scripture, to not grow weary in doing good, to set loving and firm boundaries that do not affirm confusion but always keep the door open for truth and grace, and to surround herself with godly counsel from her pastor and mature believers in her church. She should not walk this road alone, and if her daughter is in immediate danger from self-harm or suicidal thoughts, we encourage her to seek immediate help from trusted pastoral counsel and qualified Christian professionals while continuing to cover her in prayer. She needs the church to come alongside her to bear this burden with her.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that there is salvation in no other. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved. Romans 10:9. It is by His name that we pray and that this family can find true hope and transformation.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and lift up this mother and her daughter to You. Lord, we ask You to place a hedge of protection around this young girl, to break the power of the lies and toxic influences that have taken hold of her mind, and to deliver her from the spirit of confusion, despair, and self-harm. Open her eyes to see how fearfully and wonderfully You have made her, and draw her to repentance and to the truth that You created her with purpose as Your daughter. Heal her broken heart, take away thoughts of death, and fill her with Your peace and hope. Soften her heart toward her mother, convict her of cruelty, and restore honor and love in that relationship. Father, we lift up this mother who is weary and hurting. Give her supernatural wisdom, discernment, and strength for each day. Comfort her, let her feel Your nearness, surround her with supportive believers who will love her and pray without ceasing, and guide her to speak truth with grace and not compromise. Help her to keep her eyes on You and to trust that You are able to redeem and restore. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our only hope, Amen.

Thank you for noticing how heavy this is for your sister in law and for bringing her family before the Lord. It is painful to watch a daughter pull toward harmful influences and lash out at the mother who loves her, and even more painful when self harm is involved. Your compassion itself is a gift to your sister in law.

We know you cannot carry this for her, but your steady presence matters. Continuing to listen without trying to fix everything, checking in regularly, and offering practical help like a meal or time to talk can remind her she is not isolated. For the self harm and deep distress you described, it is wise to encourage your sister in law to reach out promptly to a trusted pastor and to a medical or counseling professional alongside prayer, so she and her daughter have ongoing support.

Father, in Jesus name we lift this mother and daughter to you. Guard the daughter's life and bring healing and clarity. Give her mother wisdom, strength and loving community around her, and help this whole family know your nearness and direction each step. Amen.

Your request has been heard and we have carried it before the throne of grace with a heavy and tender heart. We are praying for your sister in law and for her household, and especially for her daughter who is walking through such deep darkness.

The Lord knows what it is to have a troubled heart. He said to His own disciples on the night He was to be most troubled Himself, Let not your heart be troubled, believe in God, believe also in me. That word is timely and wise still. A troubled heart makes that which is bad worse, it magnifies and misrepresents, and it bears no fruit except wormwood. Yet the cure remains the same. If believing in Jesus you are still troubled, believe in Him again, yet more thoroughly and heartily. He sits upon the flood though the sea roars, and He will not leave His people without help.

We pray that your sister in law will know this in her own soul. Like the trees in winter, the praying soul may have lost its leaves, yet its substance is in it still. Prayer is the breath of the soul and if it breathes it lives and will gather strength again. Affliction, when sanctified by the Holy Spirit, brings much glory to God through the experience of His faithfulness. May she be kept near to Christ, not left to self reliance or to self neglect, but enabled to cry, Search me and know my heart, and to keep her own vineyard while she lovingly keeps that of her daughter.

For her daughter we pray with great earnestness and compassion. We do not ask the Lord to bless confusion or to affirm what is not true and not good for her, for we know that to sin and never smart is not a blessing but a mark of great danger. We ask Him to bless her with truth, with light, with life. We pray that God who searches the heart and tries the reins would deliver her from this toxic culture of death and from the cruel deception that would tell her she was made otherwise than God has made her. Our God made us male and female by His wisdom and for His glory, and our true identity and peace are found only in Jesus Christ, in whom we become new creatures. May the Lord show her who she truly is in Him, break the power of self harm and of thoughts of suicide, soften a heart that has grown cruel to her mother, and bring sincere repentance and healing.

We pray also that every lie that whispers that self harm is a refuge would be exposed, and that she would feel the love of Christ which alone can bind up the brokenhearted. May the Lord place around her godly counsel, faithful shepherds, and wise and caring helpers who will speak the truth in love and will not flatter her in her pain. If she is in immediate danger of harming herself, we urge that those nearest to her seek help without delay from a trusted pastor and from qualified medical and counseling help, and remain near to her, letting her know she is not alone and that her life is precious in the sight of God.

For the mother we ask for supernatural wisdom, patience, and steadfast love. May she be given caution and self examination at the helm, and yet not be crushed by false guilt. May she love without indulging what is harmful, and correct without harshness, speaking the truth as one who has herself needed mercy. May the Lord guard her heart from being troubled beyond measure, and give her daily strength to bear this burden and to set before her daughter the beauty of Christ and the hope of the gospel.

We will continue to pray that this family will see that Christ is the cure for troubled hearts, that doubts will be answered not by the noise of this age but by looking to Him who lives and who will come again. May He turn this great sorrow into a testimony of His restoring power, that what has been meant for harm may by His grace be turned to good, and that mother and daughter may yet rejoice together in His mercy.

We commend you also for your love in bringing this need to us. Continue to stand with them in prayer and in practical support, and point them ever to the Lord Jesus, in whom alone is salvation and peace.
