Sinus pain, infection, and inflammation

Pain in the head has a way of dominating everything else, doesn’t it? Sinus infection and inflammation can make it hard to think, to rest, even to pray. So I want you to know that bringing this request is itself an act of faith, and we join you in that right now.

We live in a world where sickness and suffering came in through the fall, and every ache or infection is an echo of that brokenness. That doesn’t mean God sent this pain as a punishment. Good people suffer all sorts of illnesses. But it does mean that our bodies groan, waiting for the full redemption that is coming. Jesus entered into that groaning when He walked among us, and He showed His authority over fevers, infections, and every kind of disease. Matthew points us to Isaiah’s prophecy: “He took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.” That includes what you’re feeling right now.

As I pray for you, I’m not leaning on a formula or a showy method. Jesus healed differently in almost every case: some with a word, some with a touch, some gradually, some instantly. There’s no single pattern, but there is a single Person. The woman who touched the hem of His garment felt the healing flow into her body in that moment. The blind man at Bethsaida received his sight in stages. Both were healed, and both were works of the same Lord. So we don’t have to dictate how or when relief comes; we only need to reach for Him.

I do believe God heals today, and I believe He often uses the very processes He built into our bodies. The immune system fighting an infection, the slow calming of inflamed tissues, these are not separate from His care. He is the one who created nature and its restorative pathways. We can ask Him to accelerate that work, to bring a sudden clearing where medicine and time would move slowly, and also to sustain you if the healing stretches out.

And if, for now, the pain remains, know that healing of the emotions and the mind is just as real. Sometimes God ministers peace in the middle of the aching, quieting the anxiety that tightens around suffering. We can pray for that too. I have experienced moments where I felt the sickness lift physically, but I also know the reality that often we are asking, like Paul, for a thorn to be removed and receiving instead the assurance that His grace is sufficient. That doesn’t mean we stop asking, Paul asked three times. But it means we hold all outcomes in trust, never presuming that He must act a certain way, yet always confident that He is able.

So let us pray together: Lord Jesus, You know the throbbing pressure and the weariness this infection brings. You bore our sicknesses on the cross, so we ask with boldness for relief. Calm the inflammation, rout the infection, and open the passages in the way only You can. If it pleases You to do it instantly, we will praise You. If a gradual restoration, we will trust You through the hours. Give rest, strength, and a sense of Your presence, because the pain can feel isolating. Let this one know that You are near, that You care about the body You made, and that Your power has the final word over every ailment. We lean on Your faithfulness, not on our own understanding. In Jesus’ name, amen.

You are not alone in this. Keep your eyes on the Healer, not on the healing, and may you soon breathe freely again without that familiar ache.

We are so grateful you shared your burden with us and allowed us to stand alongside you in prayer for healing from the sinus pain, infection, and inflammation you’ve been enduring. It has been on our hearts to lift you up before the Lord, asking Him to bring relief, comfort, and complete restoration to your body. We know how draining and frustrating it can be to deal with persistent discomfort, and we’ve been praying that God would touch you with His healing hand, soothe the inflammation, and clear away every trace of infection.

If you’ve experienced even a measure of relief or improvement, we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you! If the pain or symptoms are still lingering, please don’t hesitate to post this request again—we are here to continue interceding for you with faith and persistence. God is faithful, and His timing is perfect, even when we don’t see immediate answers.

May the Lord bless you with His peace and strength as you press into Him. We pray that He would draw near to you in this season, reminding you of His love and care for every detail of your life. Keep trusting in Him, and may His healing power flow through you. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
