Sins Believers Can Confess (Dan 9:20, 2 Chron 7:14) National Week of Repentance

NATIONAL WEEK OF REPENTANCE CONTINUES TODAY THROUGH SUNDAY... Confessing Our Own Sins and The Sins of Our Nation (Dan 9:20)... Just What Are Some Sins We Need to Confess As Believers?

Here I will briefly define what sin is because there are two main types--Sins of COMMISSION and Sins of OMISSION...

1) COMMISSION--to transgress against what God explicitly or implicitly commands (gossiping, (2 Cor 12:20). stealing, doubting (Whatever is not of faith is sin Rom 14:23), complaining, drinking, lusting, coveting, being angry with another, calling another person a name, (Matt 5:22), THESE are all sins of COMMISSION...

2) SINS of OMISSION--not doing what He clearly tells us to do in The Bible, e.g. -- not preaching the gospel to all creation (Mark 16), not making disciples of all the nations (Matt 28), meditating on the word day and night (Ps 1), praying without ceasing (1 Thes 5), giving to all who ask of us (Matt 5:42), tithing (Mal 3:10-11), not attending church all the more as we see the day approaching (Heb 10:26), not owing anything to anyone (Romans), not speaking to one another in psalms, hymns & spiritual songs (Ephesians, Colossians), not healing the sick (Luke 10), laying hands on the sick & casting out devils (Mark 16), praying for all in authority (1 Tim 2:1-4), not hating what God hates (Prov 8:13), or for giving thanks for all things in Christ Jesus (1 Thes 5), not praising him in the midst of trials (Acts 16), Not praying for the Name of God to Be Honored, His Kingdom to Come or Will to be done perfectly (Matt 6:9-10), Sharing our food with the hungry, being compassionate toward our family (Isaiah 58:7), Feeding the Hungry, Giving Drink to The Thirsty, Letting the Homeless Find Shelter, Clothing the Unclothed, Visiting the Sick in Hospital and Bedridden at Home, Visiting those in Prison (Matt 25:35-36) -- all these things are either clearly commanded to do in Scripture or set before us as examples -- to not do them is falling short of the glory of God, (We were created to Image God (Gen 1:27), and thus lowering his standards and muddying the waters for Christianity: JESUS SAID, "AFTER YOU HAVE DONE EVERYTHING I COMMANDED YOU, YOU ARE TO SAY, 'I AM AN UNPROFITABLE SLAVE, I AM ONLY DOING WHAT I OUGHT TO HAVE DONE (or "our duty")'" (Luke 17:10).

All these require confession as the remedy (too many scriptures to reference to prove that at this time, but 1 John 1:9 will suffice). NOTE* Some sins that are persistent or involve others and may require what James says, The confessing of your sins to one another (James 5:15). These sins require the power of agreement to break and the accountability of pastors or leaders who are not involved in the same sin or type of sin: if two of you agree on earth (Matt 18:19).

Forgive our debts -- Freely, they are too much to ever pay ourselves except for the sacrifice and satisfaction of The Suffering Servant, the Messiah, as we forgive our debtors (grant them faith and repentance, they don't owe us, we forgive them and pray they emulate Christ more perfectly -- may others admit they wronged us -- not out of obligation to us, but in obedience to You and for conscience sake -- "if your brother is offended, go to him" [Matt 5:23. Matt 18:15], out of the need for unity [Eph 4:3]. and "for the sake of truth, humility and justice," for which Christ always rides [Psalm 45:4]). If those that have wronged us or are wronging us are lost, may they be brought to salvation (1 Tim 2:4, 2 Peter 3:9). We bless and pray for those who persecute us, Matt 5 & Luke 6, Sermon on The Mount [Christianity 101]).

Lead us not into temptation -- keep us from temptation to sin -- again, sins of commission, to disobey what God clearly says is sin, which can be broken down into lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and the boastful pride of life. and. SINS OF OMMISSION -- making the Christian life much less than we are called to by saying what the word of God says to do (above) does not apply to me -- MANKIND shall live by every word that has proceeded from the mouth of God -- That's why JESUS answered, IT IS WRITTEN... If we fall short of Glory (perfection -- the benchmark for which we were created IN THE IMAGE OF GOD) -- we must take the remedy -- that is, the humble confession of our sins and sometimes to one another (See Note* Above Paragraph)...

2 Chronicles 7:14

"If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

"If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" -- 1 John 1:8-9

Revelation 3:15-22

15 'I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 'So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth. 17 'Because you say, "I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing," and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, 18 I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed. and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. 19 'Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline. therefore be zealous and repent. 20 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock. if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. 21 'He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 'He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'"

Christian Leaders Say America's Trump 'Miracle' Is a Call to Repentance

09-28-2017

Paul Strand

YORK, Pennsylvania — The National Week of Repentance goes till Sunday, October 1st. The premise of the week is that, for the good of their nation, God's people need to repent, because when God's people repent and turn from their wicked ways, God will hear from heaven and heal their land.

But for believers to reach the point of desperate repentance, they often first have to have a sense of sorrow about the state their country is in.

Famous Christian lecturer and apologist Ravi Zacharias touched on this in the official prayer he's penned for the National Week of Repentance.

HAVOC IN THE LAND

At the start, he speaks of the storms and hurricanes that have recently ripped apart so many lives and homes.

Then he wrote these words of prayer: "Lord, these storms remind us of the havoc that alien ideas have wreaked in the land. the erosion of our values, the eviction of your name from halls of learning, and the climate of hate in the land that makes it almost impossible to govern."

Some who oppose President Trump want to blame him and his followers for that climate of hate. But David Kubal, head of Intercessors for America, brings his own interesting viewpoint on the spiritual implications of last year's election that brought the country a Trump presidency.

WHY REPENT IN THE MIDDLE OF A MIRACLE?

More than 80 percent of evangelicals voted for Trump, many truly worried what a Hillary Clinton presidency would mean for America. Kubal pointed out Trump's resulting victory – which hardly any of the experts beforehand said was possible – could be seen as a miracle.

"The liberals voted more conservatively. The conservatives voted more conservatively," Kubal said. "I mean, it was just a dramatic change in the way Americans voted. That alone is a miracle: the results of the election."

But then he suggested THAT is exactly when the Bible says God's people need to repent.

Kubal explained, "It's in the Gospels where Jesus was saying 'woe to the city that I have done the miracles in that didn't repent.' And so if there is a miracle, the expectation from God is that we would repent because we recognize what our life would have been like without that miracle. And so repentance is key in this day."

REPENTANCE ISN'T FOR THE WIMPY

In York, Pennsylvania, Grace Fellowship Lead Pastor Mike Anthony has been organizing the National Week of Repentance.

He told CBN News repentance isn't for the wimpy, because it takes guts to face your sin and ask God and others for forgiveness. But he insisted that mix of guts and humility is the key to victory in the fight for America's future.

"I think the United States needs a second American Revolution, characterized not by conventional weaponry, but by the weapons of humility and courage. what I call humble courage," Anthony stated.

Jason Hershey is founder of Washington D.C.'s David's Tent, home of 24/7 worship going on non-stop for some two years now. He, too, sees how repenting and seeking God's face is akin to an act of war.

SEEKING GOD'S FACE A GREAT MILITARY STRATEGY

He paraphrased part of what God said in 2 Chronicles 7:14: "If My people will humble themselves and pray, seek My face and turn from their wicked ways…"

Concentrating on that phrase "seek My face," Hershey told CBN News, "I love Psalms 27. It basically says that if you seek His face and make that the one thing of your life, that the Lord will actually lift your head high above your enemies. It's a great military strategy: seek God's face first!"

National Week of Repentance organizers have posted videos at WeekofRepentance.com to help explain why this week is a great time to repent and seriously seek God's face. Free study guides and free opportunities to connect nationwide — all online — make it easy.

Awaken the Dawn! What's Behind the 'Holy Spirit Woodstock' Coming to DC

A 'National Humility Crisis': Why This Week of Repentance Can Lead to a Second American Revolution

1)Natural Disasters (2 Powerful Hurricanes Harvey and Irma)...

2) Internal Unrest / not like this since the 60s Racial Struggle... NFL Protests are a Sign our nation is sick...

3) Internal Acts of Terror like Las Vegas https://secure.marketwatch.com/stor...mass-shooting-at-las-vegas-concert-2017-10-02

and all the rest back starting Timothy McVeigh in 1995 and Columbine in 1999 show we are in trouble and out from under God's protection as a nation...

4) Natural Signs in the Heavens (Total Eclipse Aug 21st, 2017), Lunar Eclipses, Blood Moons, and other signs in the heavens are saying something...

5) The threat of ISIS and N Korea

6) A $20,000,000,000 ($20 Trillion) dollar US debt...

If it were only one of these 6 areas giving trouble to the country, I could slightly agree with those who want to brush off the signs, but when ALL SIX of these areas are occurring and happening within the same month -- well let's just take the advice of 2 Chron 7:14... It's God's people that need to humble themselves, pray, turn from wickedness and seek His face... If you feel you have no sin to confess, well, you do according to 1 John 1:8... If you need help finding your sin, look at the above list I compiled (which is in no way exhaustive) and finds not only sins of commission but omission. Thank you in Jesus' Name...

Say prayer and repentance can't prohibit and circumvent mass execution? I would say you need to read the Book of Esther again where prayer and fasting halted the extermination of The Entire Jewish Population living in exile at the time...
